...or otherwise held accountable, for the mishandling of classified information and materials?

Public officials are scrutinized over their mishandling classified information and materials, but rarely found criminal or held accountable by the the American people.

Sandy Berger, the former national security adviser to President Clinton, received a misdemeanor for intentionally destroying classified materials.

John Deutch, CIA director under President Clinton, was pardoned by Clinton.

Alberto Gonzales, attorney general under George W. Bush, the DOJ declined to prosecute.

Collin Powell and aides of Condoleezza Rice, Secretaries of State under George W. Bush, the DOJ declined to prosecute.

Petraeus, CIA director under Obama, received a single misdemeanor count of mishandling classified intelligence.

Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State under Obama, DOJ declined to prosecute because "all [prior] cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here."

Now we have Trump, Pence and Biden.

I'm still waiting for politicians to be prosecuted for the bribes and insider trading.

People increasing their net worth by millions while in office on a less than $200,000 annual salary. But the people tasked with investigating them are also somehow getting wealthy on a civil servant's salary.

The whole damn thing is a giant den of corruption. F*** them all.

No, nor should they be unless they actually used the information for espionage, treason, profit, or other crimes.

Same for the plebes as well.

But, our friends on the left have said classified docs are super dooper really to the max way important.

Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

No, the only time they would be punished is if the masses of Americans rose up to overthrow them, even then they would likely escape and seek shelter in some foreign safe haven

If you think of American politics as the WWE it makes more sense. Democrat and Republican parties are like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. In the ring they are foes but behind the scenes they are friends and collaborators working together to maximize the take from the fans. They laugh at how worked up we get while scheming about how to take more money and power from us. No one from either party goes to jail just like no one in WWE is every seriously injured. Its theater.

No! Every Representative, Senator, Cabinet member and key bureaucrat should now be required under oath to declare that he or she has or does not illegally have classified documents. Won't happen! These people are members of the protected class...unlike you and me who would go to prison for what they get away with.

Preach. This is almost entirely theatre at this point. It's a giant grift, and you aren't in on it.

Hillary Clinton's special treatment was the worst.

Comey wrote the finding of the investigation before it was even over AND before she was even interviewed. Her interview was at the location and time of her choosing. It was not even recorded.

She purposely set up an entire system to circumvent security and protection of information.

When caught she also is allowed to delete all information deemed personal.

No average US taxpayer ever gets treatment like that!

Only if they is a (R) by their name.

If it's a (D), well that is (D)ifferent.
