To be fair, most longtime married men have that look.
This is especially true when your wife wants you to look at curtains, dishes or other non-man room/garage/barn decorating items.

It's called the grift. Only one can get out alive and on top. A property division of all the shady deals they were involved in would open both of them to too much outside scrutiny. The grift goes back to Mena, White Water, the McDougals, Rose Law Firm, etc. Because of that, I would not be surprised if both of them had kill switches on the other.

I look at Bill, and think, he just seems like a dude who wishes he could ride off in the sunset and leave all of this bullsheet behind him...

Yep. Their marriage was one based on political ambition, nothing more. It is a marriage of convenience to both of them.

Hell, 'ole Bill isn even Chelsea's biological father.
