Story time.

I am still mad about how they handled it on the beaches down here.

Going to the beach was fine....except driving on the beach apparently made covid super ultra beyond deadly. So if you wanted to go to the beach, which was fine, you had to park at an entrance and walk. Because walking on the beach didn't make covid super ultra beyond deadly.

So you parked at the entrance, which had no parking and was physically dangerous because of traffic on Bluewater Highway. So did everybody else that was there, because when you are told to stay away from people, telling them to all park next to one another is apparently different than staying away. And because you wanted them to stay away from one another, you made them walk, which means people didn't get all that far from one another because nobody was walking 3 miles down the beach.

Airports were awesome as well. YOu had to have a mask to walk in an airport...but if you were eating, you were just fine. Because that 24" high wrought iron dividing fence between the people eating and the people walking with masks apparently was a forcefield that kept any and all rona bugs away from the people eating.

Football players and coaches on the sideline masking up, though they need not be close to each other. Go into the game to play ball where you are inches apart, take off the mask.

I thought OP was going to tell me to spay and neuter my pets.

Hell, they closed national parks.

Because encouraging people to get outside and away from one another obviously didn't apply to national parks. Evidently when you go to Big Bend or any other national park, everybody stays huddled together or something.

Basketball (and the NBA in particular) was hilarious. They all wore masks and sat 6' apart on the sidelines but sweated on and rubbed against each other in the game.

When the AAC was at 25% capacity, I took a customer to a game. We were the only ones in our section and we had a dedicated usher who would stand at the bottom of the section and hand out yellow and red cards for mask violations. I had an usher come up and tell me to put my mask on in between bites of popcorn. Some dude in a section over got booted for his mask not covering his nose after receiving his first yellow card. Absolute clown world.

I hear you, but Newsome is an unabashed uber lib, so it's par for the course with him. Abbott in the other hand portrays himself as a tough conservative, which is why I thought he'd follow Desantis almost immediately.

went turkey hunting along Buffalo river in Arkansas in state WMA - no issues. At the end of the trip, we walked into bordering Buffalo national river territory to fish a feeder creek and the state game wardens walk down in to remind us the national park is closed for Covid - apparently that imaginary line between federal and state land was a magical bug zapper that killed any Covid virus floating around on the federal side. At least they didn't issue us a ticket.

Stickers in elevators and in line telling you where to stand to stay out of the coronavirus death zone.

Police tape to keep kids off outdoor playgrounds.

Shutting down schools for an entire year.

Lines outside stores to limit the number of people inside.

Arresting people at beaches when they were the only person on the beach.

People getting fired or having their careers derailed for refusing an untested vaccine.

Pouring sand into skate parks.

Mask requirements for restaurant entry but not for actual eating.

No singing in church and crowded gatherings are illegal unless protesting.

Closing down small businesses but allowing people to buy all of those same items at Wal-Mart.

Fist bumping or touching elbows instead of shaking hands.

Waiting in the parking lot for your appointment.

Plexiglass shields.

Athletes and coaches wearing masks on sidelines but not players on the field/court.

Politicians not following their own mandates.

Band members with slits in their masks to play their instruments.

Went to the VA hospital for an appointment yesterday. Drove up to the parking garage, and a security guard in the check in booth was wearing a ****ing mask…..while sitting in there by himself.

The VA hospitals and clinics are still full on masks, three years later. They asked me if I wanted a flu shot and I just laughed.
