The powers that be are ****ing with the weather.
As long as they can skew past temperature data lower, "the last 8 years" will always be the warmest on record.
So we had a complete global **** down 2 years ago and that didn't do anything to stall global warming? Huh, really makes you think.

Wow, that article takes like 1 paragraph before it launches into scientifically unfounded fear mongering using anecdotes to suggest trends and pushing alarmist tropes.
It's been warm. That's statistically to be expected because the planet overall has been on a warming trend for thousands of years due to natural cycles, and maybe man has piled on top of that. But warm is GOOD overall from where the planet has been recently.

It was also very warm 50 million years ago with out people around. FYI the continents were in about the same position they are today (on a global basis).

You can't use trendlines in global climates and temps. Trend lines are for illustrating points you want made.
Maybe yearly or even every 5 years is a useless timescale when looking for global geological trending data

My favorite is when you look at the global temp data and the places that are absolutely, completely devoid of local temp skew (aka the middle of the oceans) they are trending colder. Not "less heating than average", they're literally dropping in temperature. How would global heating explain that, at all?
