This guy looks like a Mid-South Wrastlin personality.
Apparently that's his schtick for selecting the Grand Champion. She's crying because she won.TheEternalPessimist said:I don't understand what is going on here.itsyourboypookie said:

The show circuit is as political as it gets.
Which is why a friend of mine from college lasted a total of 2 years as an ag teacher.JB!98 said:Always has been.Tom Doniphon said:

This comment is NOT directed at Ryan Rash, as I do not know him at all.
However, from what I've read so far about him, his case is very similar to many I've seen in 4-H & FFA circles regarding a concerning trend:
- He's a judge with an accomplished history of experience in Texas 4-H/FFA circles and competitions.
- He also owns a cattle company that breeds competition animals.
- He also owns a consulting company in which... "He has selected and supervised the Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion steers for junior exhibitors at Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and the Grand Champion steer at the Houston Livestock Show 6 times and the Reserve Grand Champion Steer at Houston twice."
Having seen multiple competitions directly affected by judges who have selected Champions that were "coincidentally" animals in which they were personally compensated for either selling or "consulting" on, as well as seeing range judging and other competitions (CDM & Ag ID) have selections that were identical to training examples that were offered in 'camps' run by those same judges, I will go as far to say that the Ag competition involves big $$, and is becoming more and more a rigged game.
