On New Year's Day, Keris L. Riebel, 22, was working as a cashier at Dollar Tree in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

According to police, Bethel M. Bekele, 27, walked into the store around 4:25 PM waving a machete. Police received a phone call and dispatched officers.

When the police arrived, they found Riebel hacked to death.

Police say Bekele went to the police station afterwards and surrendered. So far, no prior connection between Bekele and Riebel has been found. Police say they are still looking for a motive.

Upper Sandusky is the county seat of rural Wyandot County. Chief of Police Jason Lucas says it was the town's first murder since 2001. It has 6,500 people and is listed as 0.1% Black by the US census.

Local media say they can not find any past criminal record. There was no room to house him at the Wyandot County jail safely, so he was transferred to neighboring Wood County. Mugshots were taken and released by both county jails.

Riebel had recently graduated from college and last October she got married to Jordan Riebel. The family has a GoFundMe page for Keris L. Riebel.

Really sad. Such a young person working hard just trying to earn a couple of bucks, and a random dude just walks in and murders her. He should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If this happened in LA, NYC, or Chicago Soros funded Gascon/Bragg/Foxx would give the murderer the keys to the city.

I remember this story. Tragic all the way around. We need to do a much better job figuring out our public policies on mental health.

Again and again it is almost always the same story. pushing people on to the subway tracks. random sucker punches in broad day light . random stabbings of people in broad day light ect. Almost always it is a black male and a non black victim. I know our wothless media will memory hole that part of these attacks, but other than racism I wonder why it is almost always that pattern ? Before our resident libs post the incident in Oregon, I am talking the MAJORITY of the attackers are black not every single one of attackers is.

According to my wife, a wayward eye is a big indicator. I sometimes call BS on her claim that she learned this studying neurobiology at t.u., but he certainly does have one. Seems like there are quite a few people with this feature who are able to function in society just fine though.

Helped us beat Bama in 2012 and was a complete freaking athletic stud. Almost certainly would have enjoyed a nice professional career had he not had a schizophrenic break. So sad.

Started until Bama, it was described at the time that he started telling people he was Jesus, predicted the Bama win and when they did it cemented it in his mind, and he start walking to Dallas. Found him a few days later by his home in Dallas. Really sad it got to the point of him killing someone.

I don't know. Part of it is racism. Part is mental illness pushed by racist groups/dnc/race grifters for their own purposes. I think it needs to be brought out for the public to discuss openly, but look at black on black murders that gets no coverage. So this getting covered has even a lesser chance of being talked about in public.
