As a Giant MexiHonky, I don't see much wrong with his statement. I've been to El Paso (Spanish for "The Paso" ).....and...he's not wrong.

It was completely in context. He didn't just make some random political statement. Bowl events were canceled because of the illegal immigrant situation.

Bravo

He could have just said "Down in El Paso" instead of "Down in El Paso with all the illegal immigrants". It just wasn't a necessary thing to say at all. He knew he would face consequences for saying this. And it wasn't the university that fired him. It was the broadcasting company.

Common mistake. In espanich, "the whale's vagina" is pronounced "Kamala Harris" but with an accent on that last "S".

The bolded is problematic. What he said was 100% true.

Yet you can have someone like Bob Costa go on and on about some random, totally unrelated political issue, and nothing but crickets from the same type of people who suspended this announcer.

Does this guy have a history of saying politically motivated things that Learfield would find objectionable? If so, then I would guess that he has been advised against doing so and then in continuing to do so, his suspension is probably warranted. But if there is no history there, then this is nothing but a bunch of liberal rats who don't want anything said that goes against their warped view of reality. **** them.
