Most big corporations have active programs and policies in place to hire and promote BIPOCS over whites "to create equity" at the leadership level. These are public programs that have been shared. Most were put in place during the BLM uprisings.
And now some companies are requiring posted positions to have non-white candidates in the interview pool. If a job happens to only have a white candidate, that person is not allowed to be hired until/unless there is a non-white that applies and can be interviewed. I know of at least one company doing this.
I know of another company where a buddy works (he's a SrVP) and was told by HR that all backfills in his org must be women. And was even told that he has to invite female customers no matter how low in the org to sponsored events over ANY male leaders. This one came about during #metoo. I suspect that hiring mandate was replaced with a non-white mandate once the #metoo movement fell out of favor and was replaced with BLM.
By default, Herero white dudes will get passed over. This is known. Join corporate America and you will get to see all of this.
