Interesting quote from the CEO that replaced Zucker and is trying to make CNN more center.

"The uninformed vitriol, especially from the left, has been stunning," Licht told the Times. "Which proves my point: so much of what passes for news is name-calling, half-truths and desperation."

Also said CNN won't be 24/7 Trump anymore.

Well it shouldn't be stunning to anyone at CNN. They've been feeding the beast for at least a decade. The freaks on the left are exactly what CNN and the MSM they made them.

Incorrect.

IF they do a thorough clean-up like captkirk prescribes, will certainly give them a crack. Would love nothing better than for them to return to their pre Bill Clinton days of more event oriented reporting.

Not saying will easily believe or fall for that, but would certainly welcome it.

People staying in entrenched positions regardless of how discredited an entity gets,or unwilling to look again at one who is reforming, is part of our issues.

Twitter is possibly on the way to such a sea-change as well.

I don't buy it. They're just jerking around trying to save face.

That is equally likely. Captkirk laid out some of the minimums to become persuasive, and even that would only begin the makeover.

Incoming Repubicans need to actually insist it continue a bit "NOW we open up what all was not discussed and have a real inquest" First up call: Ex-Speaker Pelosi. And so on.

Isn't it freaking amazing how solidified the left is? Once you're in the club, there's literally nothing you can do to be ostracized. This guy tugged his pud on an open zoom call and no one cared. Can you imagine someone from Fox News doing the same?

You mean like Maria Molina? Yes. I think I can imagine that.

Yep. They absolutely COULD revamp. The talking heads thing is stupid, though, and there's room for numerous types of programming around the clock. During the day you give summaries at the top and bottom of the hour, and fill in the gaps with feature stories that can be recycled to different times across the work week. Those stories can be cheap to produce by crowd sourcing from small town and foreign wannabe journalists: submit your segment to us and we'll check it over. If good enough, we'll run it and bring you on for an interview. Boom. 20 min for the cost of some staff overhead and a single travel claim.

OANN did some attempt at featured international context which would also be a good place to grab content: educating viewers as to the factors in geopolitics. And then there's the long form interviews they could offer and politicians would flock to. Folks watch that stuff on YouTube - it could be that cable watchers would enjoy similar content but are creatures of habit when it comes to how they use their tv.
