A photon checks into a hotel, where a bellhop asks where its suitcase is. The photon replies, "I didn't bring any luggage. I'm traveling light."
I am going to guess that these people flunked Physics in high school and are still pissed about it. So they are now trying to completely F Physics Up. Cancel Culture being turned loose on the Sciences.Quote:
we are not seeking to improve scientific 'truth,'" they continued. We regard marginalization as a key problem for social equity as well as for scientific quality. Furthermore, we regard scientific knowledge that reproduces bias and colonial power relations as non-acceptable."

The project boasts a roster of 15 collaborators, including: Concordia "Indigenous pedagogy adviser" Donna Kahrakwas Goodleaf; environmental researcher and chemistry researcher Gregor Kos; three representatives from the Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO), an indigenous environmental advocacy group; University of Toronto astronomer and indigenous activist Hilding Neilson; and 9 graduate and undergraduate workers. The project also features collaboration from five researchers at major universities around the world. . . .

Q: Why can't you take electricity to social outings?
A: Because it doesn't know how to conduct itself.

Wonder how Neil deGrasse Tyson feels about this. I know he's taken some fairly leftist positions but at some point shouldn't you be willing to look at your peers and say, "I made it through hard work and so can everyone else."
White men have been shown time and time again that standing up publicly for your values is not supportive of "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness".PA24 said:
Summary;
White women and POC are marginalized meaning at least they like our women.
White men have become jellyfish.
Is that how it works? Some random Canadian university tries to socialize physics and now "we" have ethnophysics?torrid said:
A couple of years ago there was ethnomathematics. I guess we now have ethnophysics.

'But the whole universe is outside us. Look at the stars! Some of them are a million light-years away. They are out of our reach for ever.'
'What are the stars?' said O'Brien indifferently. 'They are bits of fire a few kilometres away. We could reach them if we wanted to. Or we could blot them out. The earth is the centre of the universe. The sun and the stars go round it.'
Winston made another convulsive movement. This time he did not say anything. O'Brien continued as though answering a spoken objection:
'For certain purposes, of course, that is not true. When we navigate the ocean, or when we predict an eclipse, we often find it convenient to assume that the earth goes round the sun and that the stars are millions upon millions of kilometres away. But what of it? Do you suppose it is beyond us to produce a dual system of astronomy? The stars can be near or distant, according as we need them. Do you suppose our mathematicians are unequal to that? Have you forgotten doublethink?'

Will support any faction that arises willing to take this head-on, and not in a McConnellish or CM manner. A faction willing to be as anti-Left woke as the Left is willing to be woke.fka ftc said:White men have been shown time and time again that standing up publicly for your values is not supportive of "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness".PA24 said:

Even when one obtains freedom from corporate America and may even build enough wealth for overall financial independence, the white man must still consider his wife, children, family and such before speaking their mind,
Wearing a red baseball hat with a slogan to improve our country is seen as worse than wearing a white pointed hood in Harlem.
Whilst I can agree that soyboyification of white men is a real thing, do not diminish the impact that true racial, gender based persecution have caused many a white man to muzzle themselves.
That's not a healthy thing whatsoever. Other than being counter to every American ideal, people who cheer this on need to understand that once the host has been consumed, they will move on to the next group.
They may not believe in gravity, but gravity still believes in them.PCC_80 said:I am going to guess that these people flunked Physics in high school and are still pissed about it. So they are now trying to completely F Physics Up. Cancel Culture being turned loose on the Sciences.Quote:

That's just the thing. Not everyone can make it through. Not everyone is smart enough to be a physicist. That makes it racist. We need equal outcomes, not equal opportunity.LOYAL AG said:
