Ludicrous how rigged this country is for Democrats.

Impossible to overcome outside of revolution.
I give great credit to Trump for pointing out what a swamp DC is. I always suspected it was bad, but not this bad. And Trump really shined a bright light on it (one of the reasons that the democrats and GOPe hated him so much).

But Trump gets absolutely no credit for doing anything about it. It was bigger and bolder than ever after his four year presidency. He was all talk and no action on the swamp.
I don't think he could have done much anyway. He was one man against a bureaucratic machine/monster.

Imagine if he actually attempted a mass firing of the establishment. He would been assassinated.

I recently read The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt and it was fascinating reading about life then. When Presidents switched out, you essentially had a wholesale reboot of the bureaucracy. Most people were swapped out. That doesn't happen anymore. It's gotten too large and has become a living organism of its own accord. Basically it's a bureaucratic SkyNet.

Most everyone supports Term Limits to some extent. When ever it actually happens I will be more than happy.

But, I think that we should also seriously consider having a lifetime limit on working for govt. I would suggest 15-18 years be the most you can work for the Federal Govt in your lifetime. We should just prevent anyone from spending their entire career in govt.

There were some benefits to the old spoils system. Lifelong Bureaucrats with pensions and benefits don't mix.
