I don't think he could have done much anyway. He was one man against a bureaucratic machine/monster.northeastag said:I give great credit to Trump for pointing out what a swamp DC is. I always suspected it was bad, but not this bad. And Trump really shined a bright light on it (one of the reasons that the democrats and GOPe hated him so much).YouBet said:
Ludicrous how rigged this country is for Democrats.
Impossible to overcome outside of revolution.
But Trump gets absolutely no credit for doing anything about it. It was bigger and bolder than ever after his four year presidency. He was all talk and no action on the swamp.
Most everyone supports Term Limits to some extent. When ever it actually happens I will be more than happy.YouBet said:I don't think he could have done much anyway. Imagine if he actually attempted a mass firing of the establishment. He would been assassinated.
I recently read The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt and it was fascinating reading about life then. When Presidents switched out, you essentially had a wholesale reboot of the bureaucracy. Most people were swapped out. That doesn't happen anymore. It's gotten too large and has become a living organism of its own accord. Basically it's a bureaucratic SkyNet.
