My guess is a group of them coordinated to message the location of Musk or a family member of his in order to get themselves banned. They think it makes them martyrs but it actually makes them lowlife trolls.

The value of Twitter is that it is a place to disseminate information. Like them or not, but those individuals do that and the platforms that they have worked for will view it as a suppression of journalists. While I think the NYT and WaPo are propaganda machines, the whole of the country doesn't hold that opinion.
