Don't look at it by state. Look at it by city. Blue cities are the hell holes where all the murder & mayhem are happening.

That is because Soros DAs in large Democrat cities in those states. 29 of 30 highest murder rates in Democrat cities with a Democrat mayor and a Democrat Soros DA.

For example: New Orleans and St. Louis have full Soros control of local government through donations.

The issue is demographics, although democrat dominated cities is also correlated. The outlier is Alaska

Edit, I misread. Of the FEW (R) cities how do they compare to EVERY (D) city?

Big cities have big city problems, always have always will. Blue city/ blue state crime rates are lower than red state/blue city(or red city). The 3 largest R cities are more violent than the top 3 D cities.
