Though he will not win a statewide office - he does bring out the liberal vote in the DFW, Houston, and San Antonio / Austin areas to give democrats in those local elections a boost. The down ticket in those races always seem to vary from the headliners in the overall percentages for Republicans.

This exactly, which is why until he no longer helps the down ballot races, they will keep trotting him out every 2 or 4 years.

Not sure if he'll run for something in 2024 unless he decides to challenge Cruz again, but he will probably run for Lt. Governor in 2026.

I've said it before and I will say it again; Beto is a gift we should all be thankful for, as a feckless grifter who is not a threat to actually harm individual rights/freedom, but is great at separating coastal elites from their money, especially those in Malibu/LA/NYC.

I appreciate the Dems running someone in Texas that can't win but they somehow believe he can. They used to have a guy named Lloyd Doggett in the 80s who was this wayalways ran for statewide offices, always lost.
