Quote:

Perpetual vigilance on the part of the citizens can achieve what a thousand laws and dozens of alphabetical bureaus with hordes of employees never have and never will achieve: the preservation of a sound currency.
Ludwig von Mises, The Theory of Money and Credit

Perpetual Vigiliance uncovered the FTX scandal, and prior to that the 3AC/Celsius collapses. It was not uncovered by our regulators nor 3 letter agencies. In fact all we've heard of FTX from much of our ruling class was how "he wanted world peace and to give to charity and received blown kisses from Maxine Waters."

Why would you outsource your own perpetual vigilance to the state?

What good has it done you, besides allowing yourself to get drunk and sloppy while our treasury and ancestral hard work is stolen under our noses?

Screw it, let's just make up a new unelected group of bureaucrats to manage the others.

Because they knew they. Needed a crisis in order to start regulating it.

Same concept that "they" want you to focus on what's convenient.
They knew what was going on...

Our current economic system incentivizes learned helplessness, ever heard anyone exclaim

they won't let us/it/you/me do ____?

I've always shied away from calling people ****s or *******s and the like, but maybe we should call out those that are happily helpless...

The meek shall inherit the Earth, not through captured markets, but by excoriating those that have captured markets and posted deer feeders.

How does bitcoin solve resource scarcity?

It doesn't solve resource scarcity.

It solves for transparency of markets for those scarce resources and aligns humanity towards the best use-case of that scarcity instead of philandering, or altruistically effecting, those resources.

The most scarce resource is ones time and attention, which is why the internet and its applications have traded/valued time/attn/audience over other resource accumulation.

When markets are free and communication as well, resources will travel where most applicable.

Don't know if that tweet thread provided the enlightenment to you as it did me when I first read it.

Also, bitcoin is absolutely scarce, aligning itself with reality and physics instead of the imagination of a central planner.
