More shocked to see Georgetown and Hutto "blue".

Cedar Park and Round Rock were already purple and headed blue.

I live in Hutto and this is kinda shocking because it definitely doesn't feel light blue here as this indicates
I would agree with you based upon what I know about Hutto.

Times have changed.

Not surprising, but sad to see Fort Bend County go blue. I don't spend my money in Sugar Land anymore.

Plano? Allen? Frisco? Sheesh.

This. All 3 communities have tilted much more Asian who seem to love Dems. The most consistent blue parts are definitely where the Asian concentrations are greater (north-ish Plano east of Tollway; Frisco east of Tollway; Plano east of 75 just north of Bush). Then mix in the soccer mom factor

61-38 Abbott in SW Arlington. 60% turnout.

Scroll up to Dem parts of Arlington and turnout was about 30% everywhere.

If you go out to East Texas where I grew up in Longview which is 85% Republican problem is sometimes only 65% of those Republicans vote and if 20% of your voting block is not voting that's sometimes why the Republicans barely squeak out statewide elections it's not because there are more democrats it's because we didn't get all of our people to vote.
go look at the numbers in the big cities. well under 50% in almost all of east houston for example. low turnout is not just a republican thing.

NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

We are a clearly a nation divided between urban takers and their exploitative and condescending overlords, and rural and small town working class and producers, more or less. Urban politics Vs rural. Islands of blue in oceans of red. Yet the blue is dependent on the red, in large part, to function at a basic level.

What percentage is considered 'good' turnout?

My precinct had 69% turnout... good or bad?

Good. Very good. Anything over 50 is good for a midterm.

Where are the Harris County individual precinct results? Not finding that on a search. Only the county totals.

What I noticed in my area... Spring
Obviously north of Cypress Creek is Red and south of Cypress Creek is blue. There's a huge ethnic shift there. What I found very interesting though was turnout. In the Red precincts, registered voter turnout hovered around 60%. In those precincts that were blue/light blue turnout was in the 20-30% range.

If Republicans want to make inroads with the minority communities, small incursions can yield big results when turnout is less than 30%.

I can't believe the majority in my neighborhood voted for the dishonest, amoral, corrupt, dishonorable Beto. Both his craptastic family and in-law's family are a stain on the state of Texas as they tried to seize control of hard working small business owners in El Paso along with other BS actions.
These people are scumbags and desire our contempt.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

The weird thing is that Ronna McDaniel did that granular analysis in 2016. Trump kind of complained that she kept calling him to come back to Michigan for another rally back then.

WTH happened to that?

Yeah, but you have a massive moat with two chokepoints to fend off us left wing Dallasites.
My brother-in-law said he moved to Rockwall because if a "culture war" (my choice of words, not his) ever breaks out "we can blow the bridges".

This data is very interesting and if you play around with it for a while you'll start to see the areas Beto won were areas of MOSTLY low turnout (35% RV voting and below). The areas Abbott won were MOSTLY higher turnout (above 35% RV voting). There were, of course, exceptions. If Republicans can figure out a way to make a push toward getting their vote out in those areas, even areas where Beto might have won (there was a reason they stayed home), we can get Texas well above 60% red for generations and the talk of going purple or certainly blue will be utter nonsense.
