Summary: Rosing is a senior at Kentucky, Kylah Spring is a freshman working the front desk at a dorm. Rosing goes out and gets drunk, comes back to the dorm and wants to come in the doors. Spring says she "didn't look like a resident so I wouldn't let her in." Rosing manages to get in and then Rosing wanders over to the elevators where Spring said she was 'talking to the elevator'. Spring says SOP when dealing with a drunk student is to call an RA to handle it. She apparently called an RA and then decided to restrain Rosing from going on the elevator.

Video taken at the time shows Spring wrestling/laughing while struggling with an obviously drunk Rosing. Police are called. When police arrive, Rosing is sitting in a corner spewing the n-word at some nearby girls. Rosing refused to give her name to the police, kicked an officer, and then bit him. She is arrested and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and two counts of assault, one against the officer and one against King. Her parents paid $10k cash to bail her out. Her lawyer says she's embarrassed by what happened.

King puts out a video on tiktok describing the incident, then tearfully claims at a protest that she was the victim of a 'racial assault'. UK administration rush in to make a statement and show how woke they are, suspending Rosing indefinitely and blocking her from re-enrollment. Rosing had already decided to drop out for this semester.

Obviously, this is being made into a big deal on social media because the demand for racism outstrips the supply. One genius on imgur even said they should make Rosing as famous as the rapist Brock Turner (because the difference between racist and rapist is one letter, right? /s).

Spring is lucky she wasn't charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, because that is what her attempt restrain Rosing from going on the elevator is. She is also subject to assault charges herself if Rosing's lawyer pursues that. This is being ignored right now because UK is focusing on Rosing and her habit of spouting rap lyrics while drunk but this is incredibly poor policy. King has no legal right to touch or restrain Rosing, she isn't security or the police. Her attempt to restrain her is assault. King thinks she has some authority because she's a desk monitor and that belief turned her into a petty tyrant.

As for Rosing, people say stupid things when they're incredibly drunk. She was arrested and she went to jail. She'll face charges for assaulting the police officer. She owes the officer an apology. She's out of school and this notoriety will make enrolling elsewhere difficult. I think she should enroll somewhere and finish her degree. If getting sloshed like this is a habit, maybe she needs to be evaluated for treatment for alcoholism.

King spoke at a protest and some of her statements were laughable. She claimed Rosing 'didn't break her spirit', but you can clearly see she's been crying while reliving the 'horror' of the incident. Note, she is smiling/laughing while wrestling with Rosing in the video. Of course, now she's a victim and needs to play that up.

I don't think you win by expelling students from school for bring drunk and stupid and calling someone names because you lose the opportunity to educate someone, but that is where we're at today.

1. Rosing didn't have a student ID/card which is needed both to access the building and the elevator. She only entered the building because someone else exited/entered and opened the outer door. Then she couldn't get on the elevator so she was waiting for someone to use it so she could further get in without proper ID.

2. Spring is clearly in shock and disbelief at the shameless and vile racism of Rosing, not to mention trying to pacify a violent drunk. Spring was AT WORK trying to be professional.

3. Spring was literally assaulted - hit, scratched, kicked in the chest and stomach - and the nature of that assault was racist AF. Rosing called Spring the n-word something like THREE HUNDRED TIMES. Does that not sound like a racial assault to you?

4. "the demand for racism outstrips the supply" lol whut

5. Spring is lucky she wasn't charged... LOL for what? Preventing a drunk racist (Rosing called Spring the n-word from the first moment that Spring told her she needed an ID to enter the building) with no proof that she belongs in the building from entering said building? Way to stick up for the racist.

6. Rosing didn't say 'the earth is flat' or 'trump 2024' ie "stupid things" - she said RACIST things. There's a difference. Do you go up to black people and call them the n-word THREE HUNDRED TIMES when you're drunk? Is that why you're characterizing it that way?

7. I notice you don't say she owes Spring an apology. How telling.

8. Again, she wasn't calling Spring a rent-a-cop or a glorified doorman. She was calling her the n-word. THREE. HUNDRED. TIMES. While also hitting and kicking her. Yet the only person you show any contempt for is Spring, by implying that being called the n-word literally 25 dozen times in the span of 10 minutes by a violent drunk had no impact on her, and that she's only playing the victim.

Rosing shouldn't have been allowed to withdraw. She should should have been expelled and had to carry that on her academic record.

What is the policy the dorm/school has for handling drunken/disorderly students that are breaking rules? I'm betting they don't include physically confronting the drunken/disorderly student.

Was Ms. Spring trained on how to handle confrontations with students? If so, what and how was she trained? If not, why not?

My guess is that the university is focusing on the racial aspect of this because one of their poorly trained employees did something stupid to start a physical confrontation with a drunken student that then led to the employee being mildly assaulted and being called names. Spring likely has just as much of a case (if not more) against the school as she does Rosing. I don't know what if any case Rosing might have against the university for their employee instigating the physical confrontation for which they were likely wholly untrained and unqualified for.

And Spring is a massive drama queen who is likely being egged on and supported by people and entities behind the scenes that have anything but her best interests at heart. "This is a recurring issue in and across American school systems no matter what age,"? Seriously? What horse sh/t. No way that is an original thought from Spring. But hey, 15 minutes of fame and whatnot.

I think there are plenty of examples of universities being woke and it ruining people's lives. This ain't one. Being drunk should not be an excuse for assaulting a university employee and a cop. Bad behavior has bad consequences.

Remind me again what happened to the racist at Texas A&M who faked a racial incident, yet still received a diploma and a ring from the school he willingly chose to dishonor by his actions.

Kentucky did what was best for it and refused to allow this individual to graduate. Texas A&M should have done the exact same thing to Isaih Martin.

LOL yeah right. Let's see all those videos of folks calling blacks the hard r and getting their asses kicked and see all the comments saying they got the ass kicking they deserved. No prosecutor with two brain cells is gonna try that. Spring deserves to be standing in front of Joetato receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom medal for the restraint she showed.
