While there were undoubtedly coders let go, I doubt that was a majority. Believe it or not there are a lot of non-coding positions in tech companies. Managers of all sorts, designers, testers, researchers, sales (even for Twitter!), IT support people, HR, legal, etc. Not to mention all sorts of Twitter specific roles like those needed for all of their censoring, etc.

My take as well. As I said, Lisa Bloom should tweet an apology for her misunderstanding of the situation and delete her original tweets. Was and is unethical for her to solicit clients based upon her faulty knowledge of the facts and the law in this situation with twitter.

What's sort of funny about the "former" employee tweets is that it could very well cost them their severance, which will not only include the "abide by the playbook and code of conduct" in the email they receive but will likely include a whole host of restrictions when they receive a severance package.

If you ever find yourself on the receiving end of a pink slip, just quietly gather your things and move along. If you feel you have been wrongly terminated, you have a legally provided window to review the severance agreement and consult an attorney.

The utter stupidity of using your employer's platform to voice your dissent is great comedy. It just reinforces to Elon the right call was made on those rutards.

Under the WARN Act, he would probably be exempt from protections because he has been employed fewer than 6 of the previous 12 months before the layoff or department closure. It would define him as a part-time employee.
