Distilled water shortage?

Not sure if this is all that relevant to politics, but would there be any reason to be experiencing a distilled water shortage? Every place I had looked for it has been out of stock for the last couple of weeks. I finally found some today at a Family General kind of hidden at the back of a mostly empty shelf.

It's water. Why would everybody be out of stock?

Maybe I should go back and buy the rest of their stock. I would have to find another place to put all the covid toilet paper, but it might well be worth it

Counter top ice makers are crap. My Mom tried that at our lakehouse and it was not worth it at all.

Get an undercounter real ice maker, takes some maintenance but having truly clear ice is worth it. It is well fed since we have both sources of water. Has iron issues with the ice maker but damn if the difference isn't worth it.

My folks have been through 2 undercounter ice makers in the last 4 years and consider them to be a maintenance nightmare. They're looking at buying a counter top that my niece and her husband really like.

It's also used in automotive radiators. I don't buy the premix antifreeze so I mix it with distilled water.

Try searching the baby isle at heb/grocery stores. They normally have distilled water.

Exactly. To each their own. The one we have now is 3.5 years old and cranks out all the truly clear ice we need so if that's crap then I'll take it. Yes, it must be cleaned on occasion(ice is food so important to keep the unit clean) but nothing major.

I'm not sure if people genuinely believe someone is going to say, "Wow, if some people say I'm a moron for not believing this, it clearly must be true."

It's not much a persuasive argument. It really just sounds like a bunch of miniature dachshunds barking because the first one one barked when it thought it heard something.

+1 Thinking about buying a distiller just to insure a steady supply. That CPAP machine isn't cheap and there's probably supply chain issues with them like there is with everything else
