Biden is a skeeving narcissist pedophile with an inability to coherently speak, a history or racism, a more recent history of elitism and then you add in the policies and platforms he has and his seeming hate for this Country... and I cannot fathom the stupidity / derangement it takes to vote for ol Joe.
I can, since there are multiple examples on this very thread.
NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

Misstep IMO. Should've ignored the farce and let it die.

But Trump gonna Trump, can't pass up a publicity opportunity.

What if he really does have nothing to hide? Truth will destroy kinsinger and Cheney. They are the ones making the misstep.

What if he really has nothing to hide and everybody else is lying? It would be epic. Like a very strange Black Mirror episode with a twist ending.

These people were all lying: Mark Meadows, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, WH Counsel's Office, Pat Cippolone, Pat Philbin, all Trump's lawyers, Trump's Attorney General, Trump's Acting Attorney General,
Trump's staffers, Trump's white house counsel, Mike Pence's chief of staff, Mike Pence's Chief Counsel, the Senate Majority leader, the house minority leader.

But the known pathological liar was telling the truth.

I'm not sure what your thread derail attempt has to do with this fake offer to testify that will never happen.

Trump's family and allies didn't beg antifa to stop the riot, they begged Donald.

Never gets old with some folks dying repetitively on the same hill of misinformation and misleading posts - particularly when they claim a thread derail on a thread they have done nothing on but post handfed talking points.

Nevermind, it does get really old.

It would help if Twitter didn't delete his two tweets asking people to leave the capital, go home, etc.

But of course my point was that your assertion that the "pathological liar" is obviously lying. In the Russia collusion hoax, it really was everyone else that was lying the whole time. It was indeed a soft coup conspiracy between the Clinton machine and the FBI, like the "pathological liar" said all along. Only a simpleton would assert that because someone lies about the size of their inauguration they are lying about everything.

Ahh, but the Texags thread that day that was ongoing posted the tweets as they occurred. That's why any online that day can be more sure of what really happened. But it is true that Trump did start out taking swipes at Pence because its before he learns what is going on, and its after wrapping up his speech.

Agree. Watching it live as it unfolded and the posts here were following in detail. Saw the twitter posts from Trump and then POOF! They were gone

I remember Pence releasing that statement right before he went to the Capitol or even while he was already there and commenting how stupid it was to release that when he did, if ever. Seemed to me to be a set-up for Trump to provoke something from him at the time. Very weird timing, given that House and Senate members were prepared to present challenges for different states. Pence poohed-poohed them before the joint session even started.

Why?

Now that is a good point and a separate matter. I remember that vividly, and was pretty angry at Pence for doing that. It undermined what Cruz and Hawley were going to be presenting that afternoon, and had in fact started to begin when what would become the intrusion started to ramp up outside. Pence made that dumb announcement before Trump's speech was even over, and it colored Trump's reaction (with reason) because it basically said they were not going to even consider what was being presented that afternoon.

It is that "pre-decided" character throughout that is why people were suspicious and angry that day and remain so. As for Pence's decision in general, as said before, it was a situation calling for a Nelson, not a boy-scout if it was going to be attempted to argue. He didn't even let Cruz and the others try --- it was ruined already, before what would become the Capitol riot near the end of the next hour. That is why many there are angry as it unfolds. They were not on Jan 5.

Tip: Full news broadcasts of that day, if recorded live, preserve the order of the tweets and the when. They would stick them up on screen as they occurred.

History in the making, no matter how it turned out the effort would have been made. All Pence had to do was follow the procedures to do his constitutional duty and let it play out. But he not only refused to remain neutral and let it work, he short-circuited the effort.

Again, why?

IMHO, instead of more nefarious takes, just believe it was a product of Pence's character. Boy-scout--- follows the letter of the law type. A quote from legal episode never forgot applies, and is what I thought of that day and also when the SCOTUS ignored Texas suit and FULLY HALF the states of the United States on such a silly concept as `standing'.

That quote was this: "Crimes can be committed by small men who follow the letter of the law; Great men render justice."

Put differently -- Pence would have lost the Battle of Trafalgar. And Bulge. Because orders and the book would have been followed to the letter. They are the kind of man you want for medium stakes situations, but at a historic crunch moment you often need a Nelson or a Patton.

But if you think about it, that is not poor reflection on any man -- it is just a limitation to be a scrupler for "by the book"

This is a consequential court ruling and damning evidence. Sticking fingers in your ears crying about "talking points" won't make the hurt go away. Whining about the messenger because the content hurts your feelings, sad.

Pence didn't short circuit anything. Objections were lodged, debates and votes on.

Pence's statement was that he rejected the notion he could unilaterally reject electoral votes. Trumps attorneys that pushed that idea have since admitted Pence was right.

There's nothing wrong with Pence saying he intended to follow the law. It didn't prevent the senate and House from doing anything. To the contrary, it let them know they had to do their job if they wanted the votes out.

Quote:

Former President Donald Trump is suing the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol to avoid cooperating with a subpoena requiring him to testify.

The suit filed Friday evening contends that, while former presidents have voluntarily agreed to provide testimony or documents in response to congressional subpoenas in the past, "no president or former president has ever been compelled to do so."

"Long-held precedent and practice maintain that separation of powers prohibits Congress from compelling a President to testify before it," Trump attorney David A. Warrington said in a statement announcing Trump's intentions.
