Ashton Carter, defense secretary under Obama, dies at 68 - CBS News
Quote:

Washington Ashton Carter, who served as the secretary of defense under former President Barack Obama, died Monday after suffering a heart attack, his family said in a statement. He was 68 years old.

Carter served as the nation's 25th defense secretary and held the role from early 2015 to the end of the Obama administration in January 2017. During his tenure leading the Pentagon, Carter oversaw the military's campaign to defeat ISIS, opened all combat positions to women and ended the ban on transgender people serving in the armed forces.

He most recently led the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Quote:

"It is with deep and profound sadness that the family of former Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter shares that Secretary Carter passed away Monday evening in Boston after a sudden cardiac event at the age of 68," his family said. "[He] devoted his professional life to the national security of the United States and teaching students about international affairs. He was a beloved husband, father, mentor, and friend. His sudden loss will be felt by all who knew him."

I wonder if he was boosted

68 is pretty young when he was not morbidly obese

One day I expect one of these ladies to "inadvertently" throw their head back in surprise and break his nose.

Or turn and slap him.

He wasn't a SecDef. He was a leftist installed to make the Defense Department woke. He wouldn't know an F16 from the Sweet 16.

Is the CIA missing one of their "Cardio" hand guns? Check Hillary's weapons vault.

Come on man, a Biden would never go after the spouse of a friend or love one....nor their children. If they did, it would certainly be Russia disinfo.

I know it's poor form to speak ill of the dead - but this guy actively weakened the military by using it as a Democrat play-thing to force a social agenda, and he helped to lose wars. I'm not in circles to have the scuttlebutt on what he did regarding the promotion and rejection of officers, but given his other "successes" I can only imagine it was a heavy blue shift.

May his eternity befit his hubris.

Was never a fan of his. He ruined the infantry, in my opinion, and opened the door to this woke **** by pushing the women in combat arms crap. He was the reason Infantry Officer School eased requirements and wasted millions on testing women platoons only to have the results rejected because it didn't meet the agenda. It showed that women platoons and mixed platoons underperformed in most every category.

So are the retorts taking the form: "lots of people sure are dying from [the leading cause of death for decades]."

The average age for male heart attack victims is 64-65. He was squarely in the at-risk demographic, whether obese or not. Plenty of men suffer high blood pressure without obesity.
