I tried to recreate the table from the webpage into plain text as best as I could. Apologies if it doesn't come out clean.

These are for AGI, not total.

This is Exhibit A on how the elites ensure their wealth consolidation. They force the general populace to stay in their wealth bracket. They tax W-2 earners into oblivion, making sure that they don't have enough to truly invest and grow wealth, which would threaten their power. Only the few who have enough discipline and knowledge to invest move ahead. Those AMT spreads are disgusting.

Consumption tax or flat tax.

Only way to get one of those two--- TERM LIMITS.

Taxation is theft. And at those rates, rape too.

As I was told by a friend "the tax code is set up to reward friends and punish political enemies".

I love being a doc and would do it again if given the choice but man the taxes are ugly. I essentially work the 3-4 months of the year for 0 pay. That is just considering income tax + FICA etc not even considering state tax, sales tax, etc.

I wish I could count up every single cent I am taxed every year to see what my actual net income is. Taxes from gas, tolls, income, necessities, phone service etc etc etc. If people could see exactly how much of their money is taken in taxes I truly think they would overthrow the govt.

Same for all professionals. Lawyers, docs, accountants document every penny coming and going. And we get taxed to oblivion for it. Some criminal defense lawyers get paid in cash and good, but that is the exception.

Just to be clear, this is what the rates have been for since 2017 (under Trump). The dollar thresholds are adjusted each year for inflation.

So these "new" brackets are the same as they were last year and years before, just adjusted for inflation.

(just in case anyone wasn't aware)

Now, I hate paying taxes too... it disgusts me every year!

All pass through corps which make up most of all small businesses!

The people who pay the actual bills of this nation are constantly under attack and demanded to do more.

The elite political class make their money by extortion of the American tax payer!

I think the more interesting part is they're all up 9.3% which is higher than they've admitted inflation is running

Winner! People focus far to much on income taxes and don't realize all the other taxes we pay.

I certainly hope the rich criminal defense lawyers are paying the taxes the guy you voted for wants them to, to pay their 'fair share' even if clients pay them in cash.

should know this, but having brain fog....

does the x% over $amount go back to dollar one,

for example 37% over $693,750....if you make $793,750 are you paying 37% of $100,000 + the minimum or is it 37% of the entire $793,750?

Each bracket is taxed at that percentage. So the 37% would be on the $100 you made in that bracket.

The only fair tax is a sales tax. Property tax creates a situation where everyone has a government landlord. Income tax is straight theft by those who did not do the work to earn that money.

A sales tax can be argued to be fair because it does not discriminate. It also holds up in that it recognizes that the state maintains the ability for commerce to function.

That being said the percentage of sales tax needs to be limited so as not to have never ending increases. The balance between fed and state gov cannot exceed a certain percentage.

No surprise here. I pay over $100k now yearly. This is absolutely theft. I feel especially sorry for my partner. My wife doesn't really make anything but he is married to another attorney.

Every year in April, I have to talk him off the ledge.

It is real cute how the feds call taxes "revenue."

The federal government is in the business of deciding how much people/businesses get to earn/keep.

There should be no paycheck fed. tax withholding... make all, and I mean all incl. low income workers, write a check or money order to the Treasury when paying taxes. Shed light on the taxes that have to pay.

And that will never happen because what purpose would that serve to the government! Being deceptive about it IS THE PLAN!

logistical nightmare....but it's the ONLY way for real change to happen. If people had to write checks for all taxes, every paycheck, there would be actual rioting in the streets.

Think about a building being constructed.

Labor is taxed
Materials are all taxed
Profits on all companies supplying materials are taxed.
Profits of the company are taxed
Salaries of all employees are taxed
Bonuses are taxed
Land is taxed
Increase in property value due to building is taxed annually

****ing racket

Yep. I pay the same. I'm not married but used to have a lawyer wife that made as much as I did. Tax time was stupid painful. The big joke is everyone thinks there's some huge difference with R and D. They both can't control spending. R's will throw a little tax cut bone every now and then but there's no talk of real reform.

If you actually did add up every cent you paid in taxes you'd be lucky to actually hit the standard deduction. My brother in law tried it once and it was a year of hounding people for reciepts and piles of paperwork. He had a system and stuck to it and now he takes the standard deduction.

Basically the only good thing in the tax code. Agree we should abolish the IRS and make everything sales tax.

That doesn't catch the tens of thousands in paying annually in all of my other taxes. Property tax x2, massive amounts of gas tax, sales tax, taxes on my wife's company, utilities and on and on and on. I would love to know at the end of the year how much in taxes I paid across all forms of taxation. I guess if I was very stringent I could do that, but that would take up a ton of time.

I think you folks forget how bad the tax brackets were before the Trump reduction. It's about to get a lot worse in 2025 after these brackets go away.
