Watching that whole series was just a catastrophic failure of the police and justice system.

Believing Dahmer that the drunken and drugged 14 year old boy in his underwear was his 19 year old boyfriend. Never bothered to check despite the women screaming at them to make sure.

Giving him one year of prison, with 40 hours out to work every week and keeping the reason for his incarceration quiet, because the judge knew he deserved at break, despite molesting a 13 year old boy.

I remember the whole thing but this went into depths I never knew.


Hope he is frying every single day.

The one thing I did notice from this, is he kept the ID of everyone he killed. That is how they know the names of everyone even if there were no remains.

They're being defensive when it comes to Dahmer being gay but is it not true that his victims were gay as well? Is it not a story of the cops not caring because the victims were gay (and black)? I swear...they don't even realize Netflix is trying to give them victim cred.

I watched this over the weekend and did have to laugh. Ryan Murphy, as a gay man, has picked a number of unflattering stories about gay people between Dahmer show AND the Versace murder (American Crime Story).

That being said, I would HARDLY call Dahmer "a huge part of LGBTQ history" - the policing highlighted a lack of willingness to engage on LGBT crime and certainly gay men probably shifted their approach to hookups as well as providing a convenient anti-gay narrative (not hard to do between this and HIV/AIDS for those against gay people). That being said, don't see him as a gay historical figure in any way.

This article is about a public reaction, but even in my woke friends haven't seen ANYTHING posted about this so I'd say it's a very small loud group online that got attention with Netflix and people like the OP who are obsessed with gay news/topics (weird).
