The federal government plans to drop the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for people who enter Canada by the end of September, the same day it ends random testing of arrivals and makes optional the ArriveCan app.
The changes, for arrivals at land, air and sea ports of entry, are planned for Sept. 30, but have yet to be finalized by cabinet, according to four sources. The Globe and Mail is not naming the sources because they are not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
The mask requirement for people on trains and planes will remain, according to two of the sources.

Flew into Cancun a few weeks ago and no masks required anywhere. When departing went to baggage check and no issues. When we went to go up the elevator to security and the gate, they wouldn't let us get on the elevator without a mask. Had to go in the gift shop at the bottom of the elevator and buy a mask. So no masks required arriving in Mexico but masks required to leave. LOL.

Canada is finally waking up to the fact that their tourism and business industry is being decimated with these unnecessary mandates .. people don't want to go to Canada with all these excessive rules

Example.. we used to have a Customer meeting every spring in Toronto, play some golf, meet for business, enjoy the town. Usually 5-6 people meeting, staying in hotels, spending money on dining and car rentals. I estimate $15k to $20k being spent on the 3 day trip for 5-6 people. We haven't met there since 2018… probably won't go back either, we moved it to Florida where they are "Covid friendly" and we felt comfortable… they won't get our business back.

My husband has many Canadian clients, he's going to have to resume travel there. This will affect MLB too I'm guessing.

Maybe Canadian could take New York and California.
It would solve all of issues. I'm pretty sure New York and California would prefer that also.

I went to Canada a week and a half ago for an organized bike ride and entered in all the info into the ArriveCAN app (date and type of vaccines, photo of vaccine card, personal info, name and address of hotel we were staying at, etc.), and the border agent never checked it. They mention in their fine print that they could randomly select anyone entering for COVID testing, and we luckily dodged that bullet.

Yep - Blue Jays make the playoffs and the start of NHL hockey season in Canada magically makes the rona go away. Trudeau is an awful human.

Now it makes the US look silly that we still have a covid vaccine requirement to enter country for foreigners.

My brothers family went to Cancun in May and flew out of the Dallas airport on the plane with no problems but were told once they landed they would need a mask to walk through the airport. Totally arTard

Was told by flight attendants that mask was required in airport

Never put one on and no one said a word

Had to west a mask on all Lufthansa flights to Italy this past week - they were nazis on the way over but didn't seem to care on the flight back to DFW - pure stupidity
