I'm sure there would be zero unintended consequences. None I tell you.

So... for those seasonal days of the year that the polls are above the freezing point of water...

Let's expend energy to disrupt solar energy impact on the earth. What if increasing surface reflectivity increases atmospheric absorption? What if a cover or shield decreased surface radiation?

Those two took me 15 seconds to think of

Think of all the jet fuel used to do this. Need to wait until we gett to battery powered planes!!!

Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

Fantastic idea! We could knock out global warming, drop the skin cancer rate, trigger a cooling period of unknown intensity & time duration, and wipe out the planet's food chain in one fell swoop!

Bout time we quit fooling around with this supposed man-made mass extinction event and got it kick started!

From a cultural perspective, they keep finding Viking settlements under areas previously covered by glaciers. So while the downside is global warming, the bright side is we're learning how people lived a few hundred years ago.

Wait a minute... how did the Vikings get their settlements under the glaciers if it hasn't been warmer in the very recent past? Do the Vikings have some advanced tunneling technology that I'm not aware of?

Why not just tweak earth's orbit?

When sun has high irradiance, widen it a bit. Then in periods of low solar irradiance tighten the orbit.

Also, we could all live longer when sun isn't burning so hot under that type of climate mgmt policy.

The easiest way to do this would be to burn more dirty coal, remove scrubbers from smoke stacks, and remove emissions controls on automobiles and trucks (that burn low quality diesel.

The smoke and particulates would block the sun, causing the ice age predicted in the 1970's.

Edit to add, this method would be much less expensive than solar and wind. It probably would end up causing about the same harm to the environment as solar and wind.

It's almost as if climate is cyclical and no human alive can predict it since no human has been able to map it.

No, they solved global warming.

The Earth was quite a bit warmer 5,000 to 10,000 years ago. I think that sea level was something like 7 feet higher.

The result?

The Sahara desert was green. The Gobi Desert was forested. And Northern Mexico was decidedly wetter as well.

Prior to the start of the "Little Ice Age", the Ansazi people had a flourishing culture in the desert southwest. With the cooling of the "Little Ice Age", the area dried up and they had to move away to other areas to try to sustain their life.

A cooler climate means starvation. It means people suffering. A warmer climate, on the other hand, permits the Earth to provide for the sustenance of many more people.

We are where we are today from Global Warming. Global Cooling risks all that.

Vikings had diesel Ford Excursions. They often drove around with only one person per vehicle. Look what happened.
