Been messing with MidJourney for a couple of months now. It's all in how detailed a description you are able to conjure up. My early tests were meh but lately, they've been pretty spot on.

Yes, there are artists out there panicking a bit but like BeardedBear above, it is definitely a good visualization tool… especially for storyboarding a concept to a client.

Absolute nightmare thread. Was my first thought when I saw the thread title. I am convinced that preternatural forces can influence this technology.

This is effing creepy and weird and unsettling. I dontnjave a login so I couldn't look at the age restricted stuff. Very weird.

Is the AI making what it wills or is it just a very sophisticated analysis of huge volumes of data to determine the best expected design parameters and human preferences? The AI should be very good at analyzing existing data for preferred outcomes or results, but it can't do the much more sophisticated act of projecting itself as another embodied human and in empathetic fashion perceiving what another person might themselves perceive. The problem is always that the embodied human being is a complete organism with various sensory inputs and a brain intimately entwined with a body and in constant contact with the environment, whereas any AI is still nearly completely isolated from its environment and has access only to representational data.

I think that's why the persistent appearance of the Loab image in that model is so ****ed up. It's more akin to a self projection.
