Pretty humbling doing these with the firefighters in their gear. 110 stories is tough for an old man like me, but in all that gear - well, looked like a real ball buster

I recommend everyone try to find a local tower climb and make it an annual event. We should never forget all the dead and what the forces of evil tried to do to our country.

Very cool and good on you.

Unfortunately, the forces of evil didn't "try". They did.

And we as a society are still living with the direct and ancillary effects of it.

You can't take a bottle of water on a plane.
You can't greet your loved ones at the arrival gate.
Your emails, text messages and phone calls are monitored.
We live in a police state.
We've compromised the constitution.

Yes my friend, I applaud your gesture--- but we lost this war.

Last year I started in gear, only made it about 1/3 of tel he way, had to shed the gear to finish. It's no joke. This year, shorts and a t-shirt. I'm gonna work up to it one year.

I don't climb very well any more.

In one tower that I have to go up a little ways on occasion, the rungs are so far apart, my legs are not long enough to climb. I have to pull myself up with my arms -- all the feet do is help rest from rung to run.

I know one guy who climbs towers on occasion but who finds that the pants legs are too restrictive and make it harder to climb so before he climbs, he takes off his pants and climbs in his underwear.

Did it once before and it is a kick in the pants. Congrats and glad you are keeping up the tradition.

Anyone who makes that climb, is a better man than me.
