Trump's Truth Social barred from Google Play store over content moderation concerns

Truth Social acknowledged Google's concerns and said it would work on addressing these issues, according to Axios.

The private company has no obligation to Trump or Truth Social. They do however have an obligation to provide a good product for their customers / users. It would be justified to deny their customers access to applications that could harm their device or risk their security. However, denying their customers access to an application they want because it could expose them to wrong-think is a disgrace. They should be shamed for this which has nothing to do with government intervention.

I have never used Truth Social nor have I given it much thought. Hearing Google has banned the app makes me want to check it out. The Streisand Effect in action.

I'm sure Google cares.

One thing that android does (and apple does not) is allow for apps to be side loaded. Banning truth social from the app store merely adds a bit of additional friction, and following a guide is fairly straightforward. (I don't use truth, so I haven't looked to see if one has been posted yet).

What's hilarious about the Google position is that Truth censors ALOT Just not the approved censoring

Google probably has an FbI desk like Twitter and FB.
