A friend of the family, a junior, is being forced to room with a transgender. He was informed by the transgender student past the deadline for room change requests. He objected on the grounds of religion-Denied. Anyone with any advice?

Refuse payment. Hire a lawyer. Make it explicitly known to the mentally ill roommate that you will not be indulging their delusions. Make the lives of those in charge of student housing living hell until they abide by your requests.

Depends on how badly you want to rectify the situation.

Edit: Never mind, I saw your edit that it's actually a guy. Just got a **** draw. I'm glad that A&M is not rooming him with girls instead. Just make it abundantly clear to the roommate where you stand and that should be enough to never have to really interact with them.

This seems like the right place to put the he that wants to be a she. If it were a daughter having him be there that would be a problem. Keep the sexes together for roommates.

Be respectful to your roommate but cover your walls with a bunch of Trump posters, Gadsden flag, Christian symbols and anything else that might trigger someone. Make them be the one to say they need a new roommate.

Or let the University win and just leave.

Understand the frustration but do not burn bridges that could cause future long term issues for career. Quietly move out and move on with life.

Yeah, in this insane world, this kid will be made out to be the hateful one. Go find housing off campus. There are a ton of options now where these student apartments essentially lease by the room

Move out.

Keep pushing the issue up the chain in a professional manner. Do what you can to recoup expenses.

Eat the loss if you must. It's cheaper than the alternative.

Pretty sure he can request a move to another dorm as soon as school starts. Plant of people switch those first two weeks.

Have him respond to the roommate that he's an evangelical Christian and may be holding bible studies and prayer meetings in the dorm room and see if they would like to join.

Try leaving dishes in the sink, and leave the blinds closed when it's sunny all the time. Turn up the tv volume to a listenable volume, and leave the AC where it's comfortable for you. Leave the toilet seat up.

Their is always the Corps.

Matt Walsh or Charlie Kirk. Take it to them for help but no matter what happens there is a high probability that this has blow back no matter what they do. At some point we're all going to have to face this bull**** together.

A&M is going to be extremely limited in what they can do due to Department of Ed and OCR. Hiring an attorney is going to do nothing except rack up legal expenses for the family. The media will be on the side of the trans student.

Cut losses and move off campus. On the bright side, he will likely have a much nicer place off campus.

My kid going to another much more liberal school got stuck with a boy who was confused about that and wanted to be a they. The person was anti-social but never pushed agenda or sexuality. Just seemed to be a quiet mental patient who was passive aggressive and told my son toward the end, he was a horrible human. Just shake it off and move on. These crazies will be multiplying.

Not trying to offend any homosexuals with this comment but my fear was someone having MM sexual relations in my kids room. That would gross me out and scar me for life. Some dude acting like klinger only becomes a problem if he brings back the boys.
