WaPo says he does.

QUOTE:

I think that is wishful thinking from the left. People vote with their wallets.

If that were true Trump would have had 80% of the vote in 2020.

WaPo is just starting to ramp up the propaganda for the midterms. The 21st century propaganda has been very effective in overcoming the "people vote with their wallets" theory.

Republicans looking at a good, but not great year. Mostly because the House Republicans preformed far better in 2020 than expected, gas prices have dropped, and Dr. Oz is underperforming. I don't think Masters or Walker will underperform in the end.

People will be more likely to vote with their wallet after the last 2 years.

It's a net positive, but could have been bigger without endorsing Oz and Walker.

Most of what is happening is a 2022 desperation play to minimize the damage for Dems, they hope.

I thought it might be a slight positive for the Republicans but I've changed my mind.

I think it does help the dims. Trump and abortion are providing a distraction from the Republicans' strong areas of the economy, immigration, education and crime.

It's a reminder to people of the endless controversies that always follow Trump. Most people are tired of dealing with them and him.

Any negative effect Trump may have had on the mid-terms has been reversed by Merrick's Mar-a-Lago Misadventure.

The answer is Joe Biden is hurting the Democrats in the mid-terms, Trump is a non-factor relative to that.

I don't get it. Why are you quoting WaPo? You tell us how their record is on all things Trump so you can justify using them as a source.

But to answer your question

> Does Trump negatively impact Republican mid term chances?

Silly question. Trump has received more votes than any republican presidential candidate in history.

The biggest negative impact is democrats cheating.

Endless controversies didn't end when Trump was not re-elected.

When will people wake up to the fact that the endless controversies are a creation of the left and broadcast by their MSM propaganda arms?

You can see how they have shifted the narrative from the FBI being an enforcement arm of the DNC going after political opponents to Trump. The reality is that Trump has said very little but the MSM is blowing everything he says out of proportion. They did this through his entire presidency and continue doing it today.

They will do this to DeSantis or whoever runs against the establishment. Can DeSantis hold up to as much negativity without breaking? I hope so.

Note that they already have done this to Cruz. Had he won the nomination, the Cruz controversies would have grown exponentially.

It is being done on purpose by the left. It will not end until they are either in complete control of the country and every citizen or they are removed by being voted out. Following the will of the leftists and removing their opponents will do nothing to quell the controversies.

Don't shoot the messenger. I am just posing a question because Republican leads on generic ballots have been shrinking lately.

You're using a source that has gotten every major Trump story wrong. Did they force you to use them as a source?

Could be a perfect storm for Dems. Inflation coming down (even if still high) and Trump being back in the news is a recipe for success.

I'd expect more prodding from the Dems/FBI closer to Election Day in order to get Trump talking, triggering Dems/independents, and getting them to vote when ordinarily they'd sit out.

If only republicans could somehow block "investigations" from popping up in the coming months and to get Trump to shut up until the election is over.

bs story

landslide in midterms and every liberal publication knows it. the only way it's even close is cheating. but if your going to cheat there has to be a narrative that the midterms are close. if they say republicans in landslide and then democrats win then everyone knows what happened. but if they say it is going to be close and they cheat and win they have plausible deniability. at least amongst their stupid electorate.

I don't think it'd be a blue wave, but it'd definitely blunt the impact of the bloodbath people were predicting several months ago.

Dems would definitely still hold the senate, and an improving economy would certainly put the wind in Biden's flagging sails for a 2024 run.

Anything can happen, but I'm not liking the current trend in terms of a Republican wipeout

Dems aren't going to turn out in droves to save the Biden administration this November

But the GOP is ready in huge numbers to vote against Dork Brandon's Clown World

He's already negatively impacted the midterms for republicans by pushing terrible candidates, at least in the senate and a few governor races.

I would think we see a pretty good beat down in the mid terms. I Definitely see the House flipping . The Senate might not because of poor candidates in Georgia and Pennsylvania. I don't think Trump plays much of a role in this November.

I also read the NYT and watch CNN occasionally. Reading/hearing differing views/opinions isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Republicans should still do well but things have gotten relatively better for Dems in the last month.

Gas down 13% in the last 30 days
Stock market up 11% in the last 30 days
Unemployment still low
Inflation increases seemingly peaked in June (we'll see if that continues)
Trump back in the news

Compared to the start of the year, everything is still awful. But people's short term memories may help the Dems avoid a bloodbath. Who knows. A lot can happen in 2 months.

of course he negatively effects the GOP

without him around we would be talking about how much Biden and the leftists have destroyed the country

with him around- we are talking about his home being raided for nuclear documents.

People aren't stupid. They know Biden and the dems have caused all this economic turmoil. The dems will try to massage the numbers to make it look better, but they can't turn it around with their policies.
