Centuries-old warnings emerge from riverbed as Europe faces historic drought

Water levels have dropped in major rivers across Europe as the region suffers under a historic drought. In those dry riverbeds, centuries-old warning messages have emerged, locals report.

The "horrifying" boulders are known as "Hungersteine," or "Hunger Stones," local German reporter Olaf Koens said in an Aug. 11 tweet. One of these stones is embedded in the Elbe River, which runs from the mountains of Czechia through Germany to the North Sea, POLITICO journalist Aitor Hernndez-Morales tweeted the same day

The stone, dating back to a drought in 1616, is once again visible in the dry riverbed, Hernndez-Morales said. The warning reads, "Wenn du mich seehst, dann weine" "If you see me, weep."

These stones are "chiselled with the years of hardship and the initials of authors lost to history," a team of Czech researchers wrote in a 2013 study. "The basic inscriptions warn of the consequences of drought. It expressed that drought had brought a bad harvest, lack of food, high prices and hunger for poor people." The stones commemorate historic droughts, the researchers said.

Major rivers in Germany, Italy, and England the Rhine, Po, and Thames, respectively are drying out, DW reported. The outlet reported that rivers are "too dry, too low, and too warm," which has consequences on wildlife, the economy and people.

Water levels in the Rhine River are about half of their usual depth for this time of the year, with some sections having even lower water levels, DW reported. This has made shipping on the river five times more expensive because cargo ships must carry less weight to make sure they do not run aground, Reuters reported.

In Italy, the prime minister said that the country is experiencing, "the most serious water crisis of the last 70 years."

Cycles, cycles, cycles.......It's almost as if history is repeating itself again. The stones have been researched for a while now. The story itself isn't all that new.

The Great Reset / 2030 goals make a lot more sense when you view them through the drought cycle prism. Starting to look like people in power (bankers, WEF, ESG folks, climate change pimps) knew this was coming based on their cycle research and positioned themselves to take economic/political advantage of the opportunity.

They definitely don't want to tell the people, "Sorry folks, we are screwed. This natural climate cycle is going to destroy agriculture production throughout the world like it's done in the past. A couple billion of you are going to need to go hungry / starve until the rains come back."

What did our ancestors do to end climate change and get the rivers back up?! Let's just do that!

Maybe welcoming millions of refugees from the Middle East wasn't such a good idea after all...

Looks to me like the stone was also visible in 1914, 1927, 1930, and 1934. This isn't the first drought, and it won't be the last.

More scare tactics from the climate change con artists.

The one that will make a lot of people weep is if this BASF plant runs out of power substantially;

Quote:

The chemical giant BASF, whose Ludwigshafen base sits south of the Kaub choke-point, said its production had not yet been limited by the low water levels, but warned that it could not rule out "reductions for specific units in the coming weeks".
Over a hundred years ago the Germans were able to plan logistically for a million man army to cross over to France via rail/road/river (mostly rail, running on coal) with timing to within a minute or so. But now, they can't figure out the logistics to get electricity to their industrial heartland even in a mundane summer.

Sad.

You are missing the point. It has nothing to do with modern day climate change. It's a warning to watch for bad harvests, lack of food and high prices.

Think about it for a second, someone took the time to write a waring with primitive tools and chiseled into stone, "this drought **** is horrible, be prepared for hard times if you see this stone again."

It's not a Mayan calendar end of the age thing. It's an ancestor giving a heads up on what happens during an extremely severe drought. The parallels to today shouldn't be dismissed IMO.
