Regardless of what you think of Trump, I'm the wake of last week this is just uncalled for.

Move on from Trump and the dims, swamp, and state controlled media will just turn the next person into Trump. Fighting back is the only option not moving on

I prefer Desantis but Trump would do also.

Remember when they treated W like Hitler? I do.

We are in a cold civil war. This is not going to end with Trump fading away.

If DeSantis is the nom, he's the new Hitler. He'll be labeled a racist, fascist, xenophobe, homophobe, white nationalist, etc...

Satan is the father of the left, always remember that.

CRUCIFY HIM! CRUCIFY HIM! GIVE US BARABBAS!

Why concern with Trump is that he has already shown to oppose the correct monetary policy. He was demanding Powell lower interest rates as president. He jumped on board with Covid payments to everybody. He had the largest deficits in the history of the world. If he were president right now, we would be having the same inflation we have now (Biden's effects will come later). We actually lucked out in that Trump lost and Biden is taking the blame for inflation (BTW, he deserves it since he is not doing anything correct to stop it). If Trump were to win again, would he do a Reagan and encourage Volker to do the right thing? It will kick off a deep recession so I doubt it. I think he will do more of what he did during Covid. Relief payments for all. That will divert blame from liberalism to conservatism. It will be a net negative for everybody as a whole.

We need a conservative who is willing to react to this economy with real conservatism. Be willing to take a corrective recession because that is exactly what we need. Trump is not that guy.

I wish this lady was correct and that more Republicans were ready to move on and win in 24, but I'm not too optimistic.

It is time. Republicans are wasting so much time defending a loser instead of talking about why Dems suck.

For the 2193889127981283th time, what you libs and CMs astonishingly still fail to understand is it is not about the man Trump, it is about all of the bull**** the fed. govt., media, and people like you are doing to attack him. It is about YOU.

She's right. It's well past time to move on. DeSantis has Trump's fight but with the intelligence to back it up.
HumbleAg04
How long do you want to ignore this user?
She is right but not for the reasons given.

Trump will be 78.
Trump has broken >50% of the population mentally and emotionally.
Trump fuels the CM attachment to the progressive left.
Trump was a great fighter, solid on policy, smarter than people give him credit for, but his personality is a YUGE liability and makes him unelectable in the general.

If you want to win in '24 vote for a smarter, better fighter, and younger DeSantis.
If you want to win Twitter meme wars and lap up the tears of the libtards then Trump is your man. If you want to support actionable change in the country...

Agree completely.

But let's not expect that he won't be vilified like Trump. W was a neocon liberal - even worked with Ted Kennedy on NCLB - and the left would have hung him if given the chance.

You realize they're going to do the same thing to the next R after Trump right? This is what they always do and have always been successful at because people that don't realize they're playing right into what leftists want, which is to destroy the R candidate.

Being the party of "why Dems suck" without the vision for what Republicans have to offer is how we get dud candidates like John McCain and Mitt Romney.

I appreciate what Donald Trump did, and we need more visionaries. But to we don't do ourselves any favors when we don't recognize how much of a turnoff his obnoxiousness is. For some conservatives, that is an amenity, but reality is it also turns away a lot of folks in the middle whose votes are needed.

Trump lost to the worst dem nominee in a generation. Trump is leading the GOP to severe underperformance in the mid-terms. This should be a lay-up, a slam dunk.

But go ahead, support this loser. See if I care, Palin-is-very-smart wing of the republican party.

You either roll over like every single republican before President Trump. Or you stand up, face the enemy and fight like President Trump does, there is no middle ground with the evil we face .

All these people who say they were offended by Trump fighting the leftist scum should remember how Ron Paul was treated by the left, you may not agree with everything he said but most everything he proposed is correct. Paul didn't fight but simply proposed contrary ideas to the socialism/communism of the left, and the left turned on their propaganda machine to successfully label Paul a lunatic on the fringe.

The left have no moral compass and they
will use any evil in their quest to destroy our way of life as they create their authoritarian communist state.

He was before the big shift by the left. As the left has moved away from center, it requires the right to move away from center. He was/is a moderate by almost any standard you use. He was elected because the democrat candidates were just that bad.

The never ending parade of leftists and CMs pretending they'll support DeSantis and they only vote Democrat because of Trump is just pathetic at this point.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Trump's mean tweets and rudeness have caused a number of otherwise reasonable female voters to no longer support him. I don't understand how they cannot overlook this and see the bigger picture, but it seems to be the case. They seem to think the pendulum will swing back if we are all nice to each other, which I think is a naive view.

I mean.. I'd say that republicans are too weak to deserve their own party at this point, but the concerned moderates would love to have a second democrat party that just gets along.

Did you listen to the video? Laura is saying what a lot of people are thinking. And she also prefaces the comment with "I am afraid". If you are thinking strategically about this you know there are millions who don't follow politics, who are tired of the noise, but vote. What do you do about that?

Do what your opposition wants you to do and move on to the next guy to protect the narrative.

I absolutely love DeSantis, but this line of thinking above is why republicans lose. DeSantis is a smart field goal while Trump is the go for it on 4th and 1. Republicans just don't go for it. Too scared.

Dems get to steal the country with a phony election and all the R's just want to forgive and forget because it's the smart thing to do.
