The politics of the left is deceit..constantly exploiting.

Still want an explanation on how these deceptions aren't criminal.

Only in clown world is an increase in population, a decrease in labor participation rate, and a decrease in total people employed a DECREASE in unemployment.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics!

Edit to add... folks can support the facade that the economy is healthy and rebounding, but weakness in the core can only bear weight for so long.

If they don't deceive, they will be forced to admit their policies are pretty much total failures and government is not the answer.

That's what I suspected!

Part time and second jobs... the sad thing is Academics and Economic experts in and outside Biden Admin don't even broach the subject.

Thanks!

They are fudging the numbers. There is also speculation that they are cooking the gasoline volumes sold to lower oil prices.

The upper middle class are so worried about inflation's affect on the poor and middle class families.

Yet they just get another job and keep drinking Budweiser and buying scratchers.

They know the cure is to just make more money.

Good on them taking on another job rather than giving up what they love.

Of COURSE the numbers are doctored/fudged. Liberalism never works. Not even this time.

This is what I've been telling people is happening: they ran out of covid funny money, then they burned through whatever savings and assets they had, then they maxed out their credit lines and now they're back to the gig economy praying to make next month's rent.

So those numbers make a lot of sense. Hold on to your butts folks.

The upshot is that we should hopefully see prices at the consumer level slow their increases as the unskilled have no choice but to return to the labor force and accept lower wages to scrape by.

And many are still protected by local rent relief/protection...as in LA.

And in one of the highest priced real estate markets in US.

Good point but who is protected from what, exactly? Is it as simple as "landlords can't evict" or is there some backstop for the landlord that still has a mortgage to pay? Where does the money for that backstop come from? Unicorn farts?

Isn't "cooking the books" illegal and punishable by a fine and jail time for us lowly plebes? Can we not audit our own government? If a small company cooked their books or fudged their numbers the way this administration does, they'd be shutdown quicker than you could blink.

Personal savings rate plummeting, personal debt skyrocketing, GDP shrinking, inflation out of control, interest rates up, layoffs announced. Makes perfect sense that people are taking on a second job. Employment stats support the fact that the economy is in shambles.

People taking second jobs to make ends meet. That's how more jobs are being taken but the participation rate falls. Employers need cheap service jobs, but people can't make ends meet with inflation at those pay rates.

Housing assistance in urban arenas is a taxpayer subsidy to real estate investors in those areas.

I will give you props for your trolling skills, truly impressive!

In many ways the Household survey is much more accurate because it includes agriculture and self employed whereas BLS has a very targeted view that doesn't really reflect how the economy operates anymore. A LOT more people are self employed now than 30 years ago because of technology for instance. Also BLS discounts people that fall out of the workforce.

The most important survey is the one in November though.

Do we know what wages did yet over the same period? What kind of pay cut did everyone get this time compared to inflation?

Most of the job numbers from the latest report are part time.

And most of the new part-timers are full-timers getting second jobs.

Employers don't want the financial benefits burden that attaches to full time employees.

To another point, people "leaving" the workforce are excluded from the unemployment rate calculation.

Puffing the jobs numbers with part-timers and individuals working multiple jobs and minimizing the unemployment rate by excluding persons who are able to work but are choosing not to make good political fodder for the Dems, regardless of the transparent falsity of their messaging.

Lol, do you know what the UE rate is? A household survey.

Better tell your boy to stop crowing about the UE rate then.

Your assertion is completely baseless.

My observation is that the upper middle class put their teens to work this summer, which I think eats up a big chunk of those part time jobs noted. My 16 year old started working at Home Depot in June and they give him all the hours he can take and they legally can. He just worked nine days straight without day off.

Honestly, been a gripe of mine for years of how few upper middle class (and wealthier) parents make their kids work part time. Seems to be changing. I would be lying if I said the wife and I aren't really proud that junior is stacking up some cash in his account, especially considering the situation. Also makes him feel like he is doing his part instead of asking us for money.

Big portion are part time retiree's trying to get through inflation or deal with boredom. My Father inlaw just took a part time job at tractor supply out of boredom. He retired 2 years ago.

Good question...

Unfortunate answer...tenents are exempt from eviction, at least through Dec, 2022. City overlords may extend through June 2023. I understand some of the tenants are enjoying new Beamers & such, nice vacations, etc.

Landlords have no recourse...there is no backstop...other than once the exemption is lifted, back rent is due to be repaid... in monthly installments...does not address current amounts due...

My brain conspiracy lobe indicates the Overlords want the properties in foreclosure, so rich libs can buy them up. They are desperate to hollow out the industrious middle class...

Your Mileage May Vary, but. I wouldn't put it past them...does that answer your question?
