You can't bring about absolute tyranny of the federal government and lavish political elite lifestyle with a strong and independent middle class. If we don't need the feds, there's no reason to have a strong centralized government; we would overthrow it yesterday. However, if we are all dependent on the federal government to survive, it is the path of madness of those dependent on them to try and figure out how to survive without them thus making 'revolution' impossible. Too many serfs dependent on the fed system will fight back for the system against any 'liberation' movement.
