Just because they were neurotic sympathetic hypochondriacs or dupes or political hacks doesn't mean they should be allowed to wreck lives and careers wantonly with no consequences.

This is a start. Once there are some cases hopefully things start to roll. These administrators who ignored science and players politics now need to be held responsible.

thats not going to be enough to get them to pay.

will have to be religious discrimination like here. and this is drop in the bucket for this hospital system. it won't change their future behavior at all.

They should have waited for the Biden Medicare mandate. They would have had cover.

My DIL worked for a hospital that held out as long as they could until they were forced to implement the mandate because of Biden.

Biden is headed for a very bad afterlife.

they would not have had cover. the biden mandate said religious exemptions still applied. he couldn't change the law on anti-religious discrimination through a funding mandate.

OK, I didn't read well enough but...

he also couldn't change law period per the court. So he very well could have changed that part had he wanted to.

In the world of class/collective actions, that's a low percentage fee as compared to the class payment.

And yes, class actions are a scam which enriches lawyers at the expense of society typically. Even in situations where persons are actually harmed, the lawyers leach off of their injury and leave crumbs for those actually damaged.

The tobacco settlement is the best example.

As I noted in my ill-timed thread this morning - there will be many more of these settlements to come. Many employers paid short shrift to the requirements of Title VII b/c they thought the government would give them cover. Title VII wasn't amended to allow the COVID crusaders to steamroll employee rights.

This is correct. The consistently least punished in 21st C America are decision makers of bad policy. That has to start changing.
