Beaver's big brother

Dow was 12 years old when he was cast as Wally Cleaver, the handsome, earnest older brother to Theodore "The Beaver" Cleaver, played by Jerry Mathers. Sibling rivalry, neighborhood mischief, school crushes. The feel-good, family comedy was a hit with audiences beginning in the late 1950s. Leave It To Beaver was also white-bread. As Common Sense Media put it, the series was "a very isolated look at a white, American suburban middle-class family." Still, Leave It To Beaver is in reruns on Peacock.

Political because of the "white-bread" comment from NPR. Can we not even note the passing of a child star from a popular TV show from 60 years ago without using the SJW retrospective lens?

Lefties ruin everything and our tax dollars pay NPR to lead the charge.

The Marxist media we pay for can't give something like this a moment of peace.

Meanwhile we have a President who showered with his teenaged daughter and sold this country out to every nation that would give his son flex time with little girls and him 10% of the cut and NPR has nothing to say about it.

Yep. Leave It to Beaver was always the problem, not the cowardly POS scum we currently have running the country.

I think it's ironic that I just watched the whole LITB series on Tubi and he passes the day I watch the last episode.

White people were ~88% of the population when this show aired and suburbia was the demographic change post WWII in this time period.

God f'ing forbid that a show looks like and represents the VAST majority of the population of its own era.

They had a Mexican family on one episode that had a son that Beaver became friends with.

Eddie taught Beaver some Spanish, told Beaver 'tienes un caro como un Puerco' was a compliment he should tell his new friend. Eddie was always giving Beaver the business.

Leftist are essentially pursuing a Satanic agenda now. Leave it to Beaver was a clean show depicting an ideal family that was a good example to millions. I'm a better father today for having watched all those Leave it to Beaver reruns as a kid. The actor who played Ward was actually a preacher in real life. There's no surprise that the completely debased, vile left is critical of this show.

It was the glory years for this country. We built the greatest nation to ever grace the planet and that was the apex. I took it for granted. Gone forever.

That is the nature of things though. We saw a Pax Romana in our lifetimes. They are very rare in history---entire centuries have passed without their like.

Hell, I watch leave it to beaver reruns NOW with the kids along with Andy Griffith. These kinds of shows are about the only ones left that I don't have to have "a conversation" after each episode to explain something to them that they really don't need to have explained to them at their age.

Liberals are just sick jerks. I'm getting sick of this crap. It was a great show and it depicted a time in American history. Should we make rude racist comments about the Jeffersons in the 70s?

Good grief.

RIP Wally.

Anyone who is white either past or present is now considered racist piece of **** and anything they depicted in their lives was privileged and racist.

That's where we are now. Liberals are really the most disgusting hateful people.

RIP Wally. Thanks for the episodes/memories. The world needs more Beaver Cleaver.

  • (Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver) "Hey Wally, how come Dad's taking us out to dinner and a show?"
  • (Wally Cleaver) "I don't know; I think it's on account of togetherness; like you read about in the magazines. You know, it's supposed to make us a happy family and all that kind of junk."
  • (Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver) "Couldn't we be a happy family just eatin' in the kitchen?"
  • (Wally Cleaver) "Na, that's no good. Ya' gotta' go out and show people your a happy family."

Raise your hand if you read that in the character's voices??
