Our Houston area construction has been majorly affected by this action. I am in the industry and use to work at Vulcan. What is being reported is absolute bull honkey sauce. There is no desire for an amusement park. This is the President of Mexico demanding his bank account gets filled with lots of money.

Now, I have my opinion.... FJB has given the cartel instructions to close down/disrupt American based companies.

This happened early May so the date seems accurate, but the rest is false. Everyone in Houston concrete construction is scrambling to get concrete and our country does nothing to stop a foreign from extorting an American company/industry.

Eh, not a big fan of Vulcan after they used eminent domain to get land for a new rail line to their quarries out in the Hill Country.

Activists say Mexico not enforcing environmental laws related to Mayan Train project

"We have to wake up in Mexico, not only in environmental issues, but in the rule of law, respect for the law of the highest authority," said activist Gemma Santana.
Wait, what? Woke? Que?

Mexican president calls opponents foreign agents, traitors
MEXICO CITY (AP) In a bid to stoke nationalism and justify his policies, Mexico's president has increasingly taken to calling his opponents "traitors" and accused them of working for the foreign governments.

Analysts say President Andrs Manuel Lpez Obrador is starting to sound more like right-wing Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, calling anyone who opposes him a foreign agent.

The issue came to a head last week when President Andrs Manuel Lpez Obrador tried to side-step court challenges to one of his pet projects by declaring a tourist train line "an issue of national security," without explaining why a tourism project warranted that status.
come se dice? "RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA"??
Oh wait, in Mexico USA = USSR.
Quote:

Antonella Vazquez, a lawyer who took on the appeals on a volunteer basis, also denied getting any U.S. government funding.

"It's shameful that they attack us, just to justify a national security designation that doesn't apply to a tourist train," said Vazquez, who noted the judge in the case refused Monday to lift the work stoppage, even though the government has started to ignore it.

Vazquez says "I have received messages (on social media) that I am corrupt, or that someone is financing me or that I don't love my country. No! We aren't doing anything other than asking that the law be respected. "

Over the weekend, Lpez Obrador used similar language to attack anyone environmentalists or businessmen who opposes his plan to give dirty, fuel-oil and coal government power plants preference in electricity purchases, over private gas-fired, wind and solar plants.

Off topic but maybe you could help since you used to work for Vulcan. Is there a way to look up end of life plans for quarries owned by Vulcan? Specifically the one in millsap, Texas off Gilbert pit road?

SFGate comparing him to a right winger is just so typical of media. He's a corrupt leftist buffoon much more in the mold of Maduro.

Not sure if it's directly related, but the cement supply issues are starting to hit the O&G industry as well. Starting to impact timing on cement jobs and any unscheduled jobs are having issues getting the cement blends they need on short notice. Just delaying more production getting to market with every delay.....

Mayor Chestfeeding, any insight on this issue?
Brandon, anything? No? It's still just oil companies being greedy right?
