I agree about the racism, but what can we do with the Dems? We can't just lock them all up.

My friend in SA has a "Spursaholic" nephew who says Pop is routinely referred to as "pizza face" in Spurs' chat rooms, and he is often trashed as no more than an opportunistically fortunate NBA coach.

The Spurs ownership group are cowards and they are afraid of Popovich. Since his rants about Trump and his saying that if you do not support the tenets of BLM then you are a racist, team ownership has said nothing. They cannot stop him and they do not even issue a statement that his comments do not reflect those of the organization. If probability had held true, then Duncan would have been a Celtic and nobody would know who Popovich is.

The spurs are out of money. They traded Murray because revenue is tanking. It's part of the reason they want to play some home games in Austin. Attendence is hurting.

I live in SA and I know a woman whose husband works for the Spurs in their business office. He says the Spurs are losing millions of dollars because of Pop. I know several long time season ticket holders who have dropped their season tickets because of Pop.

I don't doubt this. When I lived in SA the whole town was Spurs crazy year round. I know they've sucked the last few years, but that's never affected fan support before. If it's really that dire now, it probably has to be due to Pop's high horse lecturing.

Born here in the early 70s, been a fan since mid 70s. Couldnt give a flip anymore, don't watch the wokeass NBA at all.

I get not liking his political stances, but Pop has done a lot for SA. He donates quite liberally to charities that directly benefit locals, and he does it mostly behind the scenes and avoids taking credit.
Pop has lost more than half his fan base because of his mouth....haven't watched NBA in 10+ years.

Used to be a big Spurs fan but that was before i knew about Pop's politics views. He and LeBron James are the two biggest reasons i don't watch the nba anymore.
That's also the same reason LeBron will never be greater than MJ to me. I doubt Michael Jordan and i agree on most political issues, but i don't know it for a fact. LeBron is intentionally divisive, and an absolute hypocrite. Being the greatest is partly about growing the game. MJ was must watch TV when he was in the finals. LeBron has done the opposite of that.
