We've had record month, after record month, after record month in real estate.

Oilfield seems poised to do big things, Texas seems to be positioned to have job growth in all sectors, we can't hire anyone for less than $18 an hour.

If you haven't gotten a pay raise is that on you or the company? Could you go to work for a competitor for more money?

If you're laid off are you having trouble finding a job?

Reading posts I'd think most everyone is about to be homeless, but my day to day friends seem fine abd are still going on vacations.

Everything costs more but a raise helped offset that
I'm not sure if people genuinely believe someone is going to say, "Wow, if some people say I'm a moron for not believing this, it clearly must be true."

It's not much a persuasive argument. It really just sounds like a bunch of miniature dachshunds barking because the first one one barked when it thought it heard something.

Depends on the industry, some layoffs are on the way and already are happening in Tech. O&G is it's own world in a lot of ways. Consumers and companies are nervous and that makes them less likely to spend which creates a lot of negative activity. Unless you are really liquid or insulated I would be careful.

Personally I'm fine but pay definitely isn't keeping up with rising expenses and making it harder to get ahead. Not a lot of places that feel safe for investment either.

Should've saved that free Covid cash for the obviously coming inflation to offset it rather than buying random crap with it.

One reason for real estate success here is migration into this state because of sane covid policy and jobs. That's putting pressure on housing. Cali, northeast, etc are losing population and we are gaining, as well as Florida.

Personally, I have turned my thermostat up a degree and turned my sprinkler zones down a bit. I had my highest ever electricity bill Last month. It was shockingly high.

Food is outrageously high too.

Naw, not too worried. I'm over 40 and have an excellent work ethic and possess viable skill sets; will work two or three jobs if necessary to provide for my family. In other words, will do whatever it takes.

Talks to farmers and ranchers. WEF like crap being pushed by the Bidenites is already creating certain shortfalls going into this autumn. There is some considerable selling going on now because more favorable. Once you start having crunches there, it will spill over into other things.

Or as another ominously put it -- you are basically presently eating last year's food and items. What the govt meddling and chain issues have done is endangered the next season.

$30,000 mobile home with land is the safest investment on earth. The financing can be hard, but we originate 3x notes or rent them out for $900-$1500

As a small business owner, supplies have gone way up. Employees who drive long distances are getting antsy about gas prices (one put her notice in yesterday). Patients are less likely to have elective procedures done because they're nervous about expenses. Just about my whole area is O&G.

So, even though my income is relatively fixed, we have to tighten our belt.

And this idiot-in-chief still has time to screw things up even more.

Not affected much personally due to various factors, but sympathize with those folks getting squeezed.

This round of inflation is a byproduct of intentional rise in interest rates. my personal cashflow has been affected, but not to the point where Im making cuts to my lifestyle...

Another byproduct is a sharp drop in the stock market. Me and a lot of people are getting crushed there.

Oil and Gas industry may reduce activity if costs can't be controlled due to inflation. No matter the price of oil. You cut back so that you don't get caught in long term or commitments at the higher costs, at least till it stabilizes.
Reduce demand by cutting back, just like a recession. lets not get cocky..

Yes I'm getting crushed. Food (eating out and groceries, formula, diapers), gas, preschool going up, for 4 kids (2 were born in 2020). When accounting for published inflation took over 5% pay cut. With housing prices exploding taxes have gone up the 10% max. With 4 kids under 6 we don't do anything fancy we just try to survive.

We are retired and our major income is a fixed benefit plan plus social security. Happy at least that gets a cost of living adjustment every year. Plus we have great health insurance, but pay over $900 a month for the 2 of us. At least for my prostate radiation treatments, we had 0 out of pocket. Each treatment and I had 44 of them was $3500 and my 6 month hormone shot is over $22,000 each. The doctors office only gets a $1000. Hope he doesn't go bankrupt. Lol

If you live debt free (except for mortgage) and have a decent job, not a lot of crushing going on. I think it's hurting a lot of people that are leveraged out the rear.

Get debt free. Have savings for hard times. Invest during these opportunities.

The part hardest to accept is the fact this administration and brain dead electorate caused all of this and they could give two ****s about it. I've spent my adult life trying to understand politics and the political spectrum, but the present day democrat makes negotiating impossible. I have now resigned to not trying nor caring about what democrats want or think.

I was fortunate this spring to get a couple bumps that added up to +26%. Half a year later, it seems that we've effectively eroded back to where we were in December.

Between the Texas housing market, its impact on property taxes, the increases in interest rates, and the additional pressures from inflation - it's rough out there.

Problem is, the inflation erases gains in getting out of debt, slows that process. To be a little prepared and save, its seemed prudent to drop a few things. But each one of those damages someone "out there" in the economy. TV was dropped; mostly because it is just so depressing and checking in on Forum 16 suffices to keep up with less of the headache inducing noise.

My parents are about 78 years old. My mom was the queen bee histologist at MD Anderson for a number of years. Since MD Anderson is part of the university of Texas medical branch, her retirement is collegiate TRS.

She is on fixed income retirement. My dad is pissed. They are about 20% poorer, and they know it.

This whole thing sucks.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

Everyone feels it, so we up our activity to make more money.

I simply can't believe a bunch of upper middle class college educated folks are being squeezed when my $800 a month tenant just picked up one extra shift a week and over came it, then got a pay raise for his effort.

My retired uncle linked up with a watermelon farmer and sells melons 5 days a week and is making $600 a day CASH, said he's got a wood splitter to sell firewood this winter.

If simpletons are doing slightly more to cover the extra cost, then surely the most educated among us can make 20% more in a crunch?

Anecdotal evidence..now do conceptual analysis of what it's like for the millions of people that can't do those things and are sacrificing a/c or medicines so they can continue to eat.
