Don't get me wrong, It wouldn't surprise me at all. But any call ike that or claim like that requires the entire transcript before anyone can have an educated opinion.

If that were true, why wouldn't he tell the new administration and get them on board with whatever he thought was the threat? Why wouldn't he clue in the transition team and say, "hey, you're not understanding this thing correctly and you risk messing this up..." If the Trump admin does indeed go about "screwing it up," Biden would certainly have the media to run the story and try and embarrass Trump. You can't suggest he would be above that.

For that matter, why not make it all public? Why is this just coming out now if he was worried only about the safety of the guy from OUTSIDE forces?

I'm certainly not against more information and holding off on an opinion, but at first glance, this indeed sounds like a threat. Biden didn't have any means to carry it out but the Ukrainian guy didn't know that.

I'm sure Poroshenko remembered the Maidan Revolution just a few years before. How much was the US involved in that one? Yanukovych wasn't killed but he got the hell out of dodge fast enough.
