I have a new respect for Morton's!! When it would be so easy for them to just give some bland political correct statement about protesters coming to their establishment to harass Brett Kavanaugh instead they give a statement that their (protesters) actions were pathetic and unwelcomed.

Honest question….. What recourse does an establishment have to remove such scum from the premises? Can they have a "bouncer" physically remove the soy boys and screeching women without being sued?
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

If I wasn't so lazy, I would suggest following the protestors to their house. Make a lot of noise with bullhorns, interrupt their meals, etc.

Harass their kids, block their driveways, etc.

Bet it would stop this crap very quickly.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he went to the office of the woman who heckled him during a show and heckled her.

Good luck with that……. By that time the meal is ruined and the "protestors" have achieved their goal.

Hire off duty police officers as security. If they enter the building give them notice to leave and let the cops do their thing if they don't.

Will be in the SA area later today. Will gladly take the fam to Mortons and chomp down on a tomahawk.

Well let's also remember that the people protesting aren't exactly Morton's target clientele, so they risk nothing by offending them. This is just good business.

Why would a restaurant chain want to support on-site harassment of people, who least half of their customer base identifies with? How many of these leftist insurrectionists eat at Morton's anyway? This is a slam dunk.

btw, Morton's is overpriced and "just ok".

With all due respect, I do not care if it is Morton's or McDonald's. Or the left or the right.

Just act like decent human beings.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you always works.

There's another thread on this, but plenty of people who can and do (did) eat at Morton's disagree with the recent SC decision (Democrats and Republicans).

I don't agree with making a scene in a restaurant, but I also don't agree with Morton's statement - which makes their politics clear. They could have said nothing.

Not a great steakhouse anyways, wouldn't make my Top 10 in DFW.

You've gone out of your way to inform us of this. Gay men and wealthy Dems aren't eating at Morton's anyway as evidence of your comment here because it's not flashy enough, so maybe your other stance that this will piss off the Dem base doesn't add up.

You are missing the point entirely. It has zero to do with the quality of the restaurant.

And you are okay with one side stating their views?

And not the other?

I disagree with a lot of what "woke companies" state as their views.

But they have the right to do that and do not require them to "say nothing".

Double standard my friend.

Got a lot of food elitists on here it seems. That like to humblebrag which is fine.

But of course has nothing to do with the main point.

No…any company can say/do most anything they want and consumers can respond in kind. I've never posted anything contrary to that - can probably search for cake and find posts where I've said that for example about the bakery case. Zero double standard, but keep trying.

If you disagree with "woke" companies and their business is largely unaffected that's an indication of the effectiveness of the anti-woke* crowd.

Morton's stepped in it with this for no reason, maybe Landrys can have a gofundme.

Dude, if people don't start speaking up and doing the right thing like Morton's did then we are headed for anarchy. Their statement I read was perfectly fine and didn't step in it; they simply said people need to let people eat in peace.

It can't be ok to get in everyone's face and get violent in any forum EXCEPT the capitol building in DC, as an example. For some damn reason, the left is ok and openly supports chaos and violence in the former but if some LARPERs are let into the capitol it's a freaking crisis.

Dems are siding with the elites and completely discounting the common American in this blatant double standard. You can't have it both ways without major repercussions.

Did you read their comment? In what universe does it "make their politics clear"? It essentially just said keep disturbances out of restaurants.
Yes, they should have said nothing or at most simply confirmed there was an incident. Instead they made a statement to Politico. Now they've made a mess. I hear Gen Z is filling up their reservations across the country with no shows for example.

They can't say "don't disrupt our customers' dinner experience"?

You have a wildly low bar for what constitutes taking a side.

You are saying the following statement is making a mess? This is objectively a sane and common sense response that any business should and could apply in this situation if we were still living in a country where the left had any decency.

It's an appeal to the Golden Rule and if Dems think this is wrong, then this is why we are no longer compatible as a nation.

In the context of this issue, the individual involved, etc it was sure to result in a negative response.
