I'm surprised you haven't made the connection that the Big Ag policies you support are directly responsible for the plight of these farmers around the world.. What did you think would happen with an agricultural policy of vertical integration and consolidation? The USDAs public policy is literally to drive out small farmers in favor of large corporations in the name of efficiency.

I don't care about the "organic" label, but small farms and local, regenerative agriculture is the ONLY way to feed the world.

The boil needs to come to head, otherwise the problem would have only continued to escalate anyway until there was a complete breakdown. It may not have the effect that the rioters want short term, but it's something that absolutely had to be done for the long term.

Maybe but what BQ is saying is that nothing good ever really comes from these coups. The coup leader with the most guns and thugs wins, and gets access to the lout. Why would he then want to turn the power back to the people? He just has a shorter term plan and an exit.

I was going to post about this. The WEF was balls deep in the decision to go "organic". Practice it on a country that is small enough and provides enough of a footprint to the world.

Look at what happened. It crippled the economy and the shockwaves of their lack of exporting will be felt for years. Sri Lanka was the Italy (?) to Hitler when he was perfecting his Blitzkrieg. They wanted to see what worked and what to watch out for in other countries.

Good for those farmers fighting in the Dutch countries and even the Italians showing some fight. This is an economic war that the socialists are waging right now. The beginning steps have already started here.

I have a friend who was born in Sri Lanka. He has lived here since the 1970s. He had bought a house there with plans to retire and move back. The plans were put on hold with COVID. This was his take this weekend...

Don't forget that Gates's vision was that EVERY device in your home would be part of the Microsoft infrastructure. He's not happy being successful, he wants to dominate and monopolize.

Myself and others have stated this before (maybe even on this thread), but when people like Gates get this involved in manipulating entire countries and cultures it's simply because they are bored. Money means nothing to them. It no longer has any relevance and has lost it's allure.

The only thing left that gets them off is wielding power and it requires this level of scale to get them hard.

I think both of you are missing the point. The country is screwed and will burn all the way to the ground. Nothing to really stop that from happening now. Government went all in and the people have reached the boiling point where it doesn't matter anymore. Anyone that can get out should do so while they still can. Eventually it can correct and rebuild but it's going to be a long time, especially in the current global environment with so many other problems. Probably their best case scenario is if India decides to take it over and stabilize it, a huge percentage of the folks in Sri Lanka are Tamil (Essentially Southern Indian). Don't know that India has any designs to do so though, they might just to keep China out.

Any way you slice it though a lot of people are going to be suffering and dying in Sri Lanka in the next year.
