And much lamentation about all the services they provided to poor women now being unavailable.

How is this possible if abortions were only 3% of their business?

Physicians at Jackson Women's Health Organization have been trying to see as many patients as possible before Thursday, when, barring an unlikely intervention by the state's conservative Supreme Court, Mississippi will enact a law to ban most abortions.

Pretty easy to cook those numbers of "Non-abortion" services:
- Consult for abortion
- Checkup after abortion
- Providing a waiting room (to wait for appt)
- Bathroom on site (for those seeking abortion)
- Pens for use in waiting room
- Lighting in waiting room
- Parking
- Temperature controlled facilities
- Brochures
- Secretaries
- Websites
- Web applications
- Nurses
- etcetera etcetera etcetera...

Yep. Break everything into its component parts and you can minimize (on paper) a foundational business model until it looks like an afterthought.

Jackson Women's Health Organization?

Republicans are the ones that lie about PP and abortions, in general.

PP countered Republican lies with proof that 3% of their total services they provided were abortions...and this has been verified many times....and they are still operating....in TX (they didn't have a location in MS, most likely due to Republican laws targeting them).

A little deeper into PP numbers: about 13.7% of their clients received abortions, nationally; looking at a case study of their business in AZ, abortions accounted for about a quarter of their medical expenses and a fifth of revenue.

On another note, women will die because of Republican's draconian abortion laws

the following makes no sense at all, except in the mind of an idiot:

Quote:

Doctors worried about getting sued under Texas' restrictive abortion law have delayed treating pregnancy complications until patients' lives were in danger, according to a paper from the Texas Policy Evaluation Project.

providing pre-natal care - and not aborting - is not against the law!

For those that want to know,

Quote:

The Texas Policy Evaluation Project, a research institute at the University of Texas that focuses on "evidence-based, equitable reproductive and sexual health care," has been studying the impacts of Texas' abortion law and other policy changes.
The paper, which was authored by TxPEP researchers, maternal-fetal medicine specialists and abortion providers, highlights the experiences of 25 clinicians and 20 people who have experienced pregnancy complications.
Although Texas' abortion law contains an exemption to save the life of the pregnant patient, doctors said it was unevenly and insufficiently applied.
"People have to be on death's door to qualify for maternal exemptions" to Texas' current law, one maternal-fetal medicine specialist told the paper's authors.

So if abortions are so rare, why would the lack of abortions cause these places to have to shut down?

How many women will be killed by these recent developments? Could you provide a source for estimates?

Well I hope they are able to help women as much as possible, without doing abortions.

How many women will be killed by these changes? How common is death because an abortion was not available? I don't think I know one person who that has happened to, or even a friend of a friend.

I have no idea. Perhaps you could (1) explain what is included in the act and (2) set out an argument as to why you think it is or is not unconstitutional. Drive-by citation to some 50 year old statute does nothing to extend the discussion.

I assume I'm going to be waiting a while for you to search ShareBlue for a coherent answer.

Yes, though it is construed to be "legal" under our current system and the abusive powers of the federal government which largely go unchallenged.

Anything that falls outside the delegated powers in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution is unconstitutional. But that ship sailed many decades ago with unionists run wild over federalism.

The problem with that example is the Left sees everything you just mentioned as a threat to their power and control. They need abortions because it means a citizenry that is irresponsible, careless, and most importantly, obedient.

Being responsible, having a family, raising responsible children and staying married for a lifetime all threaten the Leftist's agenda.
