Same government has already declared they are going to ignore the SC on RvW and work around it so the precedent has already been set. Bypass the federal government.

Except this DOJ would put a target the size of the Rio Grande on the back of every militia member.
If you believe the Southern border is mostly about good people illegally crossing into the US for a better life, I have some oceanfront property in AZ to sell you.Manhattan said:Marcus Brutus said:Manhattan said:rocky the dog said:

Its has not been the way it currently is. The border is open by policy! FJB captures and then releases the illegals in various states
That's literally how it has always been, under the constitution even illegal immigrants are entitled to a trial. Ted Cruz of all people recommended we need to send a massive amount of judges to the southern border, and he is correct.
The smart thing to do would be make them post $2,000 bond for a plane ticket home and let them all in to work.
I'm significantly less worried about illegal immigration than I am that SCOTUS says they don't need a warrant to search you within X miles of the border…

I witnessed what was very likely a very small example of this invasion yesterday near Del Rio.
A dark sports car was being pursued by a DPS SUV and the car slammed on their brakes to quickly stop on the shoulder. The DPS vehicle had to slam on their brakes and skidded onto the dirt off the shoulder. Someone jumped out of the car and took off running and the car took off. DPS officers had jumped out of their vehicle to pursue the person who jumped out of the sports car but then jumped right back in the SUV and peeled out to pursue the sports car. Crazy 10-15 seconds of mayhem.
TAKING ACTION: Today we signed the most meaningful border security legislation in Arizona history – a plan to make record investments in protecting the state from the unprecedented crisis confronting our communities and law enforcement. 1/ pic.twitter.com/zHQk3NdlKA

We are aware of the border. The border, is thing, that exists, because it's there to exist. We will work together on the border, as it is this administrations plan to see the border, which is the border with Mexico.
If it makes it through the courts, the question will revolve around the meaning of the term "invasion" in Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution. If raiding parties, pirates, and other criminal organizations were included in the sense of "invasion" when the Constitution was adopted, then your point 1 should be the correct interpretation. If the fledgling Republic confined the sense of the term solely to invasion from foreign states, then the federal government can push it back to the state and tell us the provision of additional resources is Texas' problem if the counties are overwhelmed.HumpitPuryear said:Three facts that make this a legal and justified actionLine Ate Member said:
Invasion is a militaristic term correct? So this is essentially declaring an act of war on who though?
Is it an invasion of the countries in which the illegals are a part of? Is it against the cartels that are funneling them towards our border? Is it against individual citizens that are funding these illegals to come into the US?
It could start to get really "hot" down there!
1) the invasion is planned and controlled by foreign entities, the criminal cartels. It's not random people moving back and forth across the border at will. It's not random people offering hitchhikers rides north.
2) Massive illegal immigration ties up resources that would normally be directed at controlling drug smuggling and human trafficking. Fentanyl alone is a direct and severe threat to Americans. The potential for a mass casualty event related to Fentanyl exposure is huge.
3) LE is overwhelmed and can't effectively do their jobs. This is a public health crisis. No one knows who or what is crossing the border and that is a direct threat to the safety of every American.

And expedited removal doesn't apply to asylum seekers, maybe we should have thought about that when we destabilized almost every government in Central America.

Absolutely right. I would love to hear about some F16 posters going to the border to do what needs to be done. Who's going first? Anyone?YouBet said:Absolutely. All the more reason eventually probably for multiples of TEXIT. Probably time to force the issue of at least getting the control turned over to the states if they are not going to do it. Like YouBet pointed out, they have already announced their intention to ignore law with the SC -- Texas should do the same. Especially if can coordinate with Arizona to do things about it. There is no special obligation any more.Rongagin71 said:The Left cares about rewarding its owned voting blocks,Nasreddin said:

Well I live just north of the border and have been in two different situations in which shots were exchanged. Does that count?
