And its high time Texas, Arizona, and others start IGNORING Washington.

Force a Constitutional crisis.

This is very good news.
Absolutely. Go it on our own and start handling the border without them. If the Feds want to come down there and force an issue, then let them.

Same government has already declared they are going to ignore the SC on RvW and work around it so the precedent has already been set. Bypass the federal government.

All Abbott would have to do is put out a call for a citizen's militia to form and man the river and all of this stops in 2 seconds.

Exactly, the border crossers breaking the law on their way in are victims of circumstance. The people trying to enforce the laws due to negative repercussions from these victims of circumstance are racist opportunists.

That's literally how it has always been, under the constitution even illegal immigrants are entitled to a trial. Ted Cruz of all people recommended we need to send a massive amount of judges to the southern border, and he is correct.

The smart thing to do would be make them post $2,000 bond for a plane ticket home and let them all in to work.

I'm significantly less worried about illegal immigration than I am that SCOTUS says they don't need a warrant to search you within X miles of the border…
If you believe the Southern border is mostly about good people illegally crossing into the US for a better life, I have some oceanfront property in AZ to sell you.

I witnessed what was very likely a very small example of this invasion yesterday near Del Rio.

A dark sports car was being pursued by a DPS SUV and the car slammed on their brakes to quickly stop on the shoulder. The DPS vehicle had to slam on their brakes and skidded onto the dirt off the shoulder. Someone jumped out of the car and took off running and the car took off. DPS officers had jumped out of their vehicle to pursue the person who jumped out of the sports car but then jumped right back in the SUV and peeled out to pursue the sports car. Crazy 10-15 seconds of mayhem.
Nuts

My buddy has a ranch down past Carrizo Springs and it is crazy driving those highways and farm roads after dark once you get off 35. Trooper after trooper and even a lot of unmarked cars hiding in ravines and just pulling up to the road out of nowhere and then hauling ass (assuming they are hearing about activity over the radio and in pursuit). We find backpacks all the time on his property and disturbing footage on the game cams...and keep in mind this is a high fence property well inside the border.

Ok so let's play this out:

1. Texas declares invasion
2. federal government says laughs and says why would we deviate from our plans
3. ????

Guessing the almost completely unlikely scenario is TX Texits (be still by beating heart) on the much more likely end nothing happens. Any other possibilities?

You're not entirely wrong but we need to do what Arizona just announced ($500 million to handle it themselves), on steroids.

But Abbott is a weak sip talker who never takes substantive action like this, he'd rather just rent a few buses for photo ops and whine to reporters.

We are aware of the border. The border, is thing, that exists, because it's there to exist. We will work together on the border, as it is this administrations plan to see the border, which is the border with Mexico.

Invasion is a militaristic term correct? So this is essentially declaring an act of war on who though?

Is it an invasion of the countries in which the illegals are a part of? Is it against the cartels that are funneling them towards our border? Is it against individual citizens that are funding these illegals to come into the US?

It could start to get really "hot" down there!
Three facts that make this a legal and justified action

1) the invasion is planned and controlled by foreign entities, the criminal cartels. It's not random people moving back and forth across the border at will. It's not random people offering hitchhikers rides north.
2) Massive illegal immigration ties up resources that would normally be directed at controlling drug smuggling and human trafficking. Fentanyl alone is a direct and severe threat to Americans. The potential for a mass casualty event related to Fentanyl exposure is huge.
3) LE is overwhelmed and can't effectively do their jobs. This is a public health crisis. No one knows who or what is crossing the border and that is a direct threat to the safety of every American.
If it makes it through the courts, the question will revolve around the meaning of the term "invasion" in Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution. If raiding parties, pirates, and other criminal organizations were included in the sense of "invasion" when the Constitution was adopted, then your point 1 should be the correct interpretation. If the fledgling Republic confined the sense of the term solely to invasion from foreign states, then the federal government can push it back to the state and tell us the provision of additional resources is Texas' problem if the counties are overwhelmed.

Well I live just north of the border and have been in two different situations in which shots were exchanged. Does that count? Biggest problem with the border issue is all the folks that use it as a political football instead of realizing their fellow citizens are living through this BS. And it's every day and every night.

All the more reason eventually probably for multiples of TEXIT. Probably time to force the issue of at least getting the control turned over to the states if they are not going to do it. Like YouBet pointed out, they have already announced their intention to ignore law with the SC -- Texas should do the same. Especially if can coordinate with Arizona to do things about it. There is no special obligation any more.

If you have appropriate signage, you know, the ones that say "Trespassers will be shot on sight", then shoot.

People down there live on the DEADLIEST border crossing IN THE WORLD. I'm all for doing whatever it takes to defend your property, your way of life, your family. That may mean that illegals get dead.

It's tough for people to admit but that is how far the pendulum has swung. Trump tried, ran into opposition in his own country.

That is interesting. That was one of the reasons stated for Trump's first election. People said the same about Obama. Most of the jobs created during the Obama admin went to immigrants. He then went full on DACA and DAPA. He also sued any and all states that tried to facilitate illegal immigration control. This admin is Obama on steroids, with a full open border policy.

Exactly.

And look, there is clearly a desire now from the left to have as many illegals here as possible, they're actively encouraged and protected by our government. But at the same time, I lived in Laredo as a kid (like 7 to 15 years old) from roughly 1975-1983 and we initially leased a hunting ranch near Zapata and around 1980 bought our own land near Cotulla and I was shocked even back then.

The fact is that it was practically an everyday occurrence to see columns of illegals then walking up and down the side of the highways. Every rancher I knew of any size had a seasonal crew of maybe a dozen to several dozen that would stay on for months. Enormous numbers would come across absolutely at will like clockwork every year for seasonal work. In Laredo seemingly every maid and nanny and yard worker was from Mexico. Some stayed on at ranches permanently.

The main distinction then is almost all the ones I was aware of were seasonal and they'd go back home during the winter. Later on (around 2000), my brother-in-law was in the border patrol and I got to go on patrol with him but didn't get out of the car. I sat in the car one night for a couple hours while he and some backups emptied a bunch of illegals from a train car, he said that was common and they often found dead ones.

Wasn't it pretty well established even decades ago that there were roughly 30-35 million people here in the US illegally? Hell, it's probably 50 million now.

All this (which won't happen anyway) is just closing the barn door after the horses have left and brought all the rest of the critters with them. Our "border" is nothing more than a giant empty stretch of land. And the few that are caught are let go anyway.

I don't know what it would take, but I know that whatever it is, it won't be done anyway.
