She won the arbitration, and was awarded the 5.2 million. GEICO Lost its appeal On the basis it was not allowed to meaningfully participate. Problem is, it has no legal basis to do so. GEICO declined to provide the man a defense in the case

GEICO has not been ordered to pay anything. It has a separate lawsuit regarding whether or not this claim is covered under its policy.

I guess it was a non-binding arbitration. Something tells me that there's an arbitrator in Missouri who may have trouble getting an insurer to agree to use him in the future.
