A coworker told me today that there is supposedly some emergency exercise in Ireland, and they would basically be locking everyone down due to fuel shortages. Would be the same restrictions that were implemented during COVID. Im not buying it, and also cant find anything about it on the web. Figured i would at least ask and see if anyone here has stumbled across anything like that.

That's a tiny European country. Those folks can just bike everywhere. Besides, they're irish. Buncha drunks that only shoot at each other for going to the wrong church.

Just left there yesterday and heard nothing of the sort. It would have definitely come up with my coworkers. Gas was plentiful as we drove around.

Wouldn't be a surprise though.

They were some of the worst when it came to WuFlu lockdowns.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Seems like an exercise with multiple scenarios. Who knows how close to reality they are to one of the exercised being implemented, but this could easily be standard what-if planning. Also, I'd assume it's not the exact same as COVID. Restricted from driving vs. restricted from leaving your home are 2 different things.

Considering I just saw a video from a friend in Ireland trying to avoid running over some lambs, I'm doubtful.
