While this is an individual case the recent trend of ultra liberal DAs simply not prosecuting entire categories of certain crimes is both baffling and frustrating. For the lawyers in the crowd, what is the legal rationale for a DA to simply refuse to prosecute certain crimes? How is such a thing even legal?

It's clear to me we need laws to address the following issues:

• A law to prevent stealing cars
• A law to prevent ramming people with cars

PS - apparently the baby and mom are okay. So at least there's that.

The driver of that truck is a bad*** and a hero for taking out the trash before he could hurt anyone else.

Could tell the very moment the driver in the truck realized, "Hell no this guy ain't getting away today!"

I am sure that he will have a record before and after he turns 18.

Gascon is ****ed and he knows it. Big liberal donors are abandoning him. Local and state democrats are abandoning him. His own staff and prosecutors are abandoning him. His approval is in the ****ter. His only hope is the recall effort not getting enough signatures, but they're at 500,000 with a month to go. They need 566,000. They're assuming many will get tossed and not counting any chickens yet, but it is looking like the recall might happen. If it does, he will never be electable again. He and chesa will be pariahs.
