Hell no. Goal posts will only move.
Conservatives compromise, progressives don't.

Really in favor of gun control. Leads to better accuracy and puts more bullets in the perp.

How would it reduce the number of victims? Anyone with a pump shotgun and a belt with 50 shells could kill dozens of elementary school teachers and kids if that's what they are hell-bent on doing.

Especially when the cops stand around for an hour letting it happen. That kid could have killed just as many people with a baseball bat or a 2x4 based on the reaction of the cops.

That is assuming that the cops not entering had nothing to do with them being scared that they were outgunned. I think their fear definitely played into their response and that they would have acted more directly towards in attacker with a bat or 2x4.

None of it is about reducing shootings or deaths.

It is about control, and taking away the ability of people to defend themselves.

Because once people have given that right, the government is free to do anything it wants, including killing its own people.

It can do that now with a drone

Here is my problem. When these things happen, they are horrible. It hurts! I can't imagine sending my kids to school. I don't blame the gun, I blame the trigger puller, who had issues that I can't imagine. We want to ban guns, but we don't want to work on making kids better human beings.

Drunk driving kills at a high rate… but we don't recommend that every car has to have a breathalyzer, or straight up ban cars that can go over 50 mph.

How about we quit using the killing of kids for political gain… and we start trying to be better humans and setting better examples for our kids.

If it dramaticperpetratorally reduced them would you be willing to keep them?

Sure. You?

I don't think it would, so sure. At least I don't think it would reduce the number of attempts. Probably would reduce the number of victims.
You are asking a semi-loaded question (no pun intended), but I will answer it as best I can.

Reducing violence is a multi-step problem to solve. It involves the perpetrator and the instrument they use.
For example there is plenty of violence in prisons (or so I have been told), where there are no guns and very low occurrences of violence in Switzerland, where everyone is required to either own a gun or know how to use one.

Guns are the current instrument of violence and as such, are deadly. Guns are a particularly lethal instrument of violence, much deadlier in scope than say a knife. As an example primary weapon of your average GI is a gun not a knife, for which I am grateful.

Reducing access to guns by the bad guys is the goal for all. The question is how do you do that, without infringing the 2D rights of all US citizens?

The short answer to your question is that restricting gun access will cause deadly violence to decrease., however violence in one form or another is with us until the end days. Violence will always be a cancer on society.

Every time there is a mass shooting event and the gun control crowd goes nuts blaming the gun rather than the sick person using it, the liberal government leaders start attacking the 2nd Ad.

The inevitable result is gun sales escalate, especially sales of automatic rifles. I'm an old guy who never owned one because I didn't have enough fear of my government. That has changed in the last 10 years, so now I am getting one.

I don't support banning specific types of guns because that will just lead to the next iteration when people still die until there are no guns. That said, let's not pretend like an AR-15 style weapon isn't substantially more efficient than a pump shotgun. Given enough time and lack of resistance, sure a six shooter will kill everyone in a room.
Given enough time and lack of resistance

Hmmmmm, maybe this is what needs to be focused on…….

Why don't we work on enforcement of what is on the books?
