I think the stats posted recently showing the ar15 as the weapon of choice for these evil individuals demonstrates that it's a effective tool for both taking and defending life. As long as humans live, there will always be a need to defend life from individuals and governments.

I hog hunt with mine, usually there are a dozen or more hogs and one shot won't do it.

There are plenty of rifles that fire .223 and 5.56 that are NOT AR 15 style. One that comes to mind is the Ruger Ranch rifle that will accept a Pmag. They do just as well and I guess they don't scare people.

With the rate that the government is overstepping its authority, having the right to bear arms has never been more critical.

I was out hog hunting, walking down a dry creek in the middle of the brush with a semi auto rifle. Granted not an AR-15.

One of the hogs I shot, I gut shot it, and I saw that hog run and it was looking at me from the side. Then it spotted me and turned and came right for me, on a full run.

I really think if I had a bolt action, I wouldn't be writing this comment today. I think that pig would have shredded me as I wouldn't had time to pull the bolt action and make another shot.

But I shot that hog in a perfect head shot, and it did a cartwheel and died at my feet. I was definitely more lucky than good with that shot, but I do think a semi auto is absolutely necessary.

OP what's the reason you buy gasoline? I have a car and a lawnmower.

I can't think of a better if the shhhhhh hits the fan rifle. And if you don't think the shhhhh won't eventually hit the fan, well good luck.

Sorry, leftists and media (but I repeat myself), but that is literally the ONLY difference between an AR and any other .223 semi-automatic hunting rifle.

Low recoil (easier for women to shoot)
Accurate (especially with modern optics)
High capacity (you want less bullets or more?)

That's why an AR-15.

After "The War To End All Wars" (World War 1) this nation's hunters and target shooters switched from the lever action rifle to the bolt action rifle.
After "The Second World War" this nation's hunters and some (recreational) target shooters ("plinkers") went to semi-automatic rifles.
Now after the Vietnam War these returning service members have an inclination to purchase a firearm they were trained to use in the jungles of South Vietnam.

Last time I checked, the 2a wasn't about hunting….

Find yourself surrounded by peaceful protestors (sarcasm) threatening you and your family and you will quickly realize why…

I dont own one but I've shot my friends and family's occasionally. I will probably get one eventually though. My accuracy with it is excellent. Took me all of three shots to center in and hit my targets consistently. Easy to handle and fun as well. So that's why I'd recommend one.

But like everyone else has said, why does the op care? It isn't the law abiding sane people with ARs that are the problem. It's the nutters that need to be handled and dealt with. Not the inanimate object they have abused.

Fun and easy to shoot. Extremely effective for home defense (top choice by most experts). Because I wanted one

If Obama and Biden thought it was good idea to deal automatic ARs to the drug cartels I figured it's well worth me having semi automatic AR.

Own an AR. Personal favorite rifle to plink with.

I wouldn't have minded there to be a higher threshold to obtain one. Never understood the argument otherwise.
