Would love to see the actual number of people who are switching from gas cars to electric cars because of the high gas prices. Pretty sure the number is extremely small because no one can afford a new electric vehicle when prices for all other daily items are skyrocketing. Not to mention, electricity prices are up across the board too so are you really even saving money switching to electric?

The only people I see driving Tesla's in Frisco are Indians.

Go buy an EV. You'll need to go into another ~$50k in debt at high interest rates, but at least you'll save money at the pump! And you'll have to wait who knows how long to actually take delivery. Pretty easy thing to do for the average American! #Buttigieg

I made sure to lock in a 5 year rate for my electric bill a couple weeks ago. Only a 1.5 cent per kWh increase from my previous plan so I will take it! With the way things are going that might end up being a steal.

Cheapest renewals on powertochoose.com is 13.8c per kWhr, and these are all for THREE TO SIX YEAR terms...

So basically, to get the lowest price now I have to lock in this terrible rate until Sleepy Joe is kicked out of the oval.

People who spend too much time in government get used to driving change with sticks rather than carrots. They figure that with enough pain, the people will eventually be driven to the "preferred" behavior.

Because they are mostly incapable of beating the free market, they are pretty much incapable of creating a preferable alternative to create natural behavioral change, and their subsidizing (laundering) of "green" energy has done little other than weaken our grid.

The slow pace of their "green" efforts leaves them frustrated and looking to the stick (via introduced economic pain). And introducing pain is easy for them.

If they ACTUALLY cared about the environment - they'd be fast-tracking nuclear power plants to make reliable electricity cheaper and positioned to out-compete O&G in some spaces. But they aren't problem solvers - theyre activists who chase causes. So now we all get to deal with central planners adding pain to our lives with little positive net outcome.

I locked in at .13 a month ago. Just checked and lowest I could find was .18. My service company is at .20 now for a three year.

I also legitimately had a classmate a week ago try to tell me this is not the administrations fault. This incredibly smart, yet ignorant, 22 year old who has only known academia and living with parents knows the truth of how this world works apparently.

We are so screwed. I truly believe it is a point of no return now. I held out for a long while but this admin shows zero signs of stopping so now I can't help but be pessimistic.

The next five years are going to be VERY interesting IMO.
